Synopsis
Min-young déménage au 5ème étage d'un immeuble avec sa fille de 6 ans, Juhee. Lorsque son voisin du dessous, Han Chang-su, déclare qu'il ne peut plus tolérer le bruit venant de son appartement, elle est interloquée car ils vivent tranquillement. De plus, elle se pose des questions sur les actes étranges des autres résidents, sans parler des morts mystérieuses. On the Isle of Wight, just off the South Coast of England, a train accident means that the main hospital is completely full and is unable to take in any more patients. The smaller and older hospital, Mercy Falls which is more isolated, is being closed down however this accident means that some of the patients, including the childrens ward, need to remain at the site until there is availability elsewhere. The hospital has three floors with the children's ward on the first floor. The second floor was closed off twenty years before and is unaccessable due to the elevator buttons being disabled and the stairs blocked off.

Set a year after the original, One Missed Call 2 introduces Kyoko Okudera and her friend Madoka Uchiyama. Both women are teaching assistants at a kindergarten in the middle of Tokyo. Madoka persuades Kyoko to visit a restaurant where Kyoko's boyfriend Naoto Sakurai works part-time at. Mei-Feng is the daughter of the cook, and her cellphone rings with the "ringtone of death". However, she is out buying groceries and her father answers it. The call was meant to be for Mei-Feung, but since her father answered it, he hears his own death instead. A young boy, Takeshi, is told by a mysterious woman that he will die after picking up a ticket inside a red bag. While boarding the subway train home, he is pulled outside of the train, which briefly stops when the conductor is distracted by a figure outside. The next day, Takeshi's classmate, Noriko Kimura, finds the ticket and shows it to her sister, Nana, experiencing a vision of a baby and her mother in the process. Noriko spots Takeshi while waiting for the train and tries to follow him, but ends up missing too. Nana decides to take action and contacts the train conductor, Shunichi Kuga. From the name she remembers written on the ticket, Yaeko Aonuma, she learns that the ticket has been returned to the lost-and-found multiple times and the people who did so have all died. The victims all have two distinguishing features: black marks covering their face and black eyes. Nana visits Takeshi's apartment, but flees when she sees that Takeshi has returned, but is naked, pale, has dark marks on his face and dark eyes, with his mother repeatedly babbling that he is no longer Takeshi.
