Synopsis
After making a name for himself in the advertising world, Nate Shepard is fired for being out of touch with the times and technology. Out at a restaurant, where he is to meet up with his girlfriend Adi and another couple, drinking his woes away at the bar, Nate meets the instantly desirable Jenny. They connect wonderfully and soon discover that they are actually waiting for each other. When their other halves arrive, (Adi and Buddy) it seems as though they bring out the worst in Nate and Jenny. Dinner is uncomfortable and after dinner is even more uncomfortable, especially when Adi breaks up with Nate. The reason being money and his lost job. Meanwhile, Jenny is leaving town for a wedding and Buddy refuses to go with her so he can stay behind and party with his best friend who is coming to town, LA hipster Sam Steele. Together, Buddy and Sam party, find girls, and consume an enormous amount of drugs. The next day we find out that Buddy has overdosed. He has died. And a strange girl called 911, we don't know who. Jenny is in shock. Nate attends the memorial and once again, Nate and jenny connect. Jenny soon realises she needs to be out of the apartment she shared with her deceased boyfriend, and in a round about way, she finds herself at Nate's Brooklyn loft to see if a roommate situation might ease her mind. As Nate and Jenny start to co-mingle their lives, everything gets a new perspective. Nate's budding career as a novelist gains traction, and Jenny begins her journey to get over Buddy. But chaos is always right around the corner. What are the hurdles Nate has to jump over to further his dreams? Who was that girl who called the ambulance for Buddy? Is life really better with Jenny around? Who knows where the journey might lead, but maybe that is the point of the journey.Actors

About 10,000 years ago, peaceful aliens from the planet Antarea set up an outpost on the planet Earth, on an island later known to mankind as Atlantis. When Atlantis sank, twenty aliens were left behind, kept alive in large rock-like cocoons at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Now a group of Antareans have returned to Earth to collect them. Disguising themselves as humans, they rent a house with a swimming pool, and charge the water with "life force" to give the cocooned Antareans energy to survive the trip home. They charter a boat from a local captain named Jack (Steve Guttenberg) who helps them retrieve the cocoons. Jack likes Kitty (Tahnee Welch), a beautiful woman from the team who chartered his boat. When he spies on her while she undresses in her cabin, Jack is shocked when he discovers she is an alien. After the aliens reveal themselves to him and explain what's going on, he decides to help them.

One morning, Zeus, a dog, goes to the pier, spots a dolphin, and becomes fascinated by its movements. Afterwards, he returns home to his owner Terry Barnett, an aspiring musician, and Terry's son Jordan, who appears to be taking care of his inept father. Genius high school student Duncan Pinderhughes (Christopher "Kid" Reid) is getting ready for graduation, but is somewhat disheartened to find out that, despite his perfect SAT score and 4.0 GPA, prestigious Hafford University (parody of Harvard University) will not admit him unless he can pass phys. ed. Ex-convict Michael "Blade" Brown (Christopher "Play" Martin) is released from jail, and told by his parole officer (Rick Ducommun) that the condition of his release is satisfactory graduation from high school. A mishap results in their pictures being swapped on their permanent school records. In effect, Blade is surprised to find out that he is being placed in gifted classes, while Duncan is shocked to be placed in minimal classes with substandard conditions and miscreants for classmates.

Terry (Steve Guttenberg) is having an affair with his boss' wife Sylvia (Isabelle Huppert). One night after an office party, they are together and Sylvia witnesses an attack on Denise (Elizabeth McGovern) from Terry's bedroom window. She doesn't want to expose their relationship and so is reluctant to talk to the police. Terry, wanting to help, gives the police the description of the attacker. He soon becomes the main prosecution witness until it becomes clear he cannot have witnessed the assault, at which point he becomes the main suspect in the case. He then sets out to find the real rapist/killer with some help from Denise.
