A Queen Is Crowned is a 1953 British Technicolor documentary film written by Christopher Fry. The film documents the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, with a narration of events by Laurence Olivier. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Synopsis

6 février 1952. L'Angleterre est en deuil : Georges VI s'est éteint, mais le Royaume acclame déjà sa nouvelle reine : Elisabeth II. La petite princesse occupe une place centrale dans le coeur des sujets britanniques, alors que les préparatifs s'organisent pour son couronnement. Toutes les figures importantes du Royaume se pressent dans l'Abbaye de Westminster pour célébrer avec faste l'événement le plus attendu d'Angleterre. Le 2 juin 1953, des milliers d'Anglais assistent enfin au moment historique du couronnement de leur reine.

Bob Moses entered the state and the Mississippi Voter Registration Project began. The first black farmer who attempted to register was fatally shot by a Mississippi State Representative. But four years later, the registration was open. By 1990, Mississippi had more elected black officials than any other state in the country.
