Accident is Harold Pinter's 1967 British dramatic film adaptation of the 1965 novel by Nicholas Mosley. Directed by Joseph Losey, it is the second of three collaborations between Pinter and Losey, the others being The Servant (1963) and The Go-Between (1970). At the 1967 Cannes Film Festival it won the award for Grand Prix Spécial du Jury. It also won the prestigious Grand Prix of the Belgian Film Critics Association.
Synopsis
The story centers on a married Oxford professor, Stephen, who is experiencing a mid-life crisis. The world changes for him when he meets Anna, a beautiful young student, who is engaged to another of his students, William. Following a car accident outside Stephen's home in which William is killed and Anna is severely disoriented, she is obliged to remain with Stephen although his wife is out of town. The events preceding the accident are told in flashbacks. While Stephen believes that he is orchestrating a tryst with Anna that will leave both his wife and William in the dark, he soon discovers that Anna is playing a game of her own.Actors

Tony (James Fox), a wealthy young Londoner, hires Hugo Barrett (Dirk Bogarde) as his manservant. Initially, Barrett appears to take easily to his new job, and he and Tony form a quiet bond, retaining their social roles. Relationships begin shifting, however, and they change with the introduction of Susan (Wendy Craig), Tony's girlfriend, who seems to be suspicious of Barrett and to loathe all he represents. Barrett brings Vera (Sarah Miles), whom he presents as his sister, into Tony's household as a maidservant, but it emerges that Vera is actually Barrett's lover. Through Barrett's and Vera's games and machinations, they reverse roles with Tony and Susan; Tony becomes more and more dissipated, sinking further into what he perceives as their level, as the "master" and the "servant" exchange roles. In the final scene, Tony has become wholly dependent on Barrett, and Susan is exiled permanently from the house.

Two criminals are stalking the streets of London one dark night. Frank Clemmons (Dirk Bogarde), a cocky young man, holds psychiatrist Dr. Clive Esmond (Alexander Knox) up at gunpoint, but Dr. Esmond manages to overpower him. Frank has two options; he can go to prison or he can be a guest at Dr. Esmond’s house where he’ll be a human guinea pig subjected to Dr. Esmond’s scrutiny, which aims to cure him of his criminality. Frank agrees upon the latter. Arriving home from a holiday in Paris, Dr. Esmond’s wife Glenda (Alexis Smith) is taken aback when she sees the new household guest. Grâce à ses anciens collaborateurs, passés au service de Carter, Bannion sort de prison à seule fin de leur rendre l'argent volé dont il ne devra toucher, à présent, plus un seul sou. Prisonniers de Carter, Bannion et Suzanne parviennent à s'échapper mais ils sont abattus alors qu'ils tentaient de récupérer l'argent du hold-up.

During World War I, in the British trenches at Passchendaele, an army private, Arthur Hamp (Tom Courtenay) is accused of desertion. He is to be defended at his trial by an officer, Captain Hargreaves (Dirk Bogarde). Hamp had been a volunteer at the outbreak of the war and was the sole survivor of his company but then decided to 'go for a walk': he had contemplated walking to his home in London but after more than 24 hours on the road, he's picked up by the Military Police and sent back to his unit to face court-martial for desertion.

Farhan Qureshi (R.Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) are students at the Imperial College of Engineering (ICE), a highly regarded Indian engineering college. Farhan's passion is wildlife photography, but he pursues an engineering degree to appease his father. Raju chooses engineering with hopes of improving his family's financial situation, but his lack of self-confidence results in poor grades. Their third roommate and friend, Ranchodas 'Rancho' Shamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan), has immense interest in robotics, and invents in his spare time. Rancho regularly faces the wrath of the college's director, Dr. Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani), known as "Virus", when he gives creative and unorthodox answers in class. He lives by the philosophy that one should pursue excellence, as when it is achieved, success follows. Virus is shown as an extremely strict person—so strict that he caused his own son's suicide by putting him under excess pressure. The star student of their class is Chatur Ramalingam (Omi Vaidya) nicknamed "Silencer", known for his incredible techniques of memorization but more notorious for his silent but malodorous flatulence in addition to his arrogant attitude. Catering for them and the other college students' needs is Man Mohan, nicknamed "Millimeter".
