Adidhadi is an Indian Tamil film released in 2004. It starred Sathyaraj, Abbas, Napoleon and Rathi in the lead roles. It was directed by Shivraj It was later remade as Political Rowdy in 2005 with Mohan Babu, Charmee Kaur and Prakash Raj enacting the roles of Sathyaraj, Rathi and Napoleon respectively. Abbas reprises his role in the Telugu film.
Synopsis
Sathyaraj is a rowdy who commands respect from state heads like CM. He hates women and remains a bachelor even at the age of 50.A naughty college student (Rathi) grabs the attention of Sathyaraj though a beauty contest and there he falls in love with her and proposes to her.Then the life of her turned into a disaster, because she gets touchered by Sathyaraj and his henchmen.With the help of his brother (Napoleon) Sathyaraj changes his appearance to look younger. To escape from this problem, the heroine contacts her boyfriend (Abbas). The rest is all about how all ends well.Actors

Rahul Mithaiwala (Shahrukh Khan) is a forty-year-old bachelor living in Mumbai. His parents died in a car accident when he was eight years old, so his grandparents raised him. His grandfather (Lekh Tandon) owns a chain of confectionery shops where Rahul has been a dedicated worker helping his grandfather. Two of Rahul's friends convince to finally take a vacation and travel with them to Goa. Rahul's grandfather dies on the day of the 100th birthday celebration. His grandmother tells Rahul that his grandfather wanted his ashes to be divided into two parts—one of each to be immersed in the Ganges and Rameswaram. She asks Rahul to take the ashes to Rameswaram and disperse them. While he accepts her request, Rahul and his friends plan to dump the ashes at Goa but his grandmother wants to see him off, forcing Rahul to travel by train. He books a single ticket on the Chennai Express, planning to quickly exit and meet his friends along the way. However, as he tries to leave the train, he notices a young woman running to board it. He helps her and then four large men board the moving train, missing his chance to debark.

John (Arya) and Regina (Nayantara) marry reluctantly at a church. They have agreed to the marriage just to make their parents happy. When they take their wedding vows Regina utters her lover's name, "Surya". Upon hearing this, Regina's father (Sathyaraj) faints in the church. Regina feels sorry for her father and ends up marrying John. They live in an apartment together, and John comes home every night drunk deliberately to disturb Regina. Their neighbors are also annoyed by John's drunken behavior, and chide Regina one morning when this nuisance gets worse. John and Regina try to irritate each other in every possible way. Venkat Ramakrishnan (Srikanth), Sevarkodi Senthil (Jiiva) and Panchavan Parivendan aka Pari (Vijay) are three first year engineering students who share a room in the hostel of Ideal Engineering College (IEC), Chennai. Venkat studies engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish – to become a wildlife photographer, while Senthil studies engineering to get his family out of poverty. Pari, on the other hand, studies engineering for his simple passion for machines and devices. He believes that one should follow excellence, not success, as success will take care of itself if excellence is followed. However, this approach to studies is sneered upon by the dean of the college, Professor Virumandi "Virus" Santhanam (Sathyaraj). Virus and the faculty favour Pari's classmate, an NRI student Srivatsan aka "Silencer" (Sathyan), who believes in mindless rote learning over understanding to reach his goals of corporate status. Pari constantly spars with Virus and Silencer due to their differences in their educational approaches.

Amavasai (Sathyaraj),homeless but egoistic, gets acquainted to politician Manimaran, then MLA of palladam constituency, near tirupur (Manivannan). Amavasai helps Mani with some petty tasks during election campaign and meetings. Amavasai grows into a well acclaimed helper and first associate for Mani. He changes his name to Nagaraja Cholan for gaining social status. He marries the only daughter of the rich local landlord, Sivakami (Sujatha) and even cheats him of his Palace. Over years Amavasai grows into highly influential and corrupt politician with high criminal affluence. He builds a strong political empire through shortcuts. His ego and pride to remain in power make him kill many. He wins and remains as MLA of palladam in all the general elections for next 20 years.
