Om Shanti is the story of five people: Anand (Navdeep), Teja (Nikhil Siddharth), Meghana (Kajal Aggarwal), Noori (Bindu Madhavi) and Anjali (Aditi Sharma).Meghana is a lady full of dreams and she seeks thrills all the time. His son wants to sell off all the land so that they can migrate to Hyderabad and live a plush life. Reddy dies and Reddy’s wife (Pragati) comes to Hyderabad along with the family of her son. The rest of the story is all about how these five stories converge into a single incident.

A Gold Vinayaka Idol of value of nearly ₹100 million in the International Market is stolen by the temple priest (Vishvesh) of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple with the help of a Security Guard. The Idol, which actually belongs to the newly found treasure of the Temple is sold to a mysterious person who dies after his car meets with an accident. A kid takes the Idol from the ground and presents it to his friend who in turn presents it to her daughter in law. That man sells this Idol to a Goldsmith at Alappuzha of Kerala for ₹6,000. That Goldsmith sells it to another rich man at Mangalore of Karnataka for ₹37,000. He in turn sells it to another rich man at Shimoga of Karnataka for ₹1,90,000. This idol is sold to another rich man at Bellary of Karnataka for ₹0.5 million. Th idol is sold to a millionaire at Thiruchanur of Tamil Nadu for 2 million which in turn is sold at Madurai for 6 million which reaches to a Trader at Hyderabad for a value of ₹11 million.

Rajesh (Nikhil Siddharth) is a not-so-innocent village boy who wants to make it big in life easily and in the process ends up taking loans from every person in the village. In a parallel track, we have Shruthi (Shweta Prasad) who is being harassed by the local goon Narender (Ajay) who also happens to be her brother-in-law. Rajesh & Shruthi meet and a couple of misunderstandings lead to Rajesh turning over a new leaf. Babu (Nikhil Siddharth), an orphan brought up by his uncle and aunt believes that they swindled his property. Centuries ago, Sri Raja Keerthi Ravi Varma promises to build a huge temple for a swayambhu idol of Kartikeya if the latter saves his kingdom from drought. It regains normalcy after unexpected rains and Varma constructs a huge temple under the supervision of Vishvakarma. On the night of every Karthika Pournami, huge white light is emitted the temple since its origin and people believed it as Kartikeya's presence and blessings. Since then, Kartikeya was worshiped there on a grand scale till 2012. However the temple was closed due to few circumstances in 2013 and whoever tried to reopen it or know about it died mostly because of a snake bite or an accident making the temple a haunted place.
