After a recollection of his childhood memory in which he meets a police officer while being chased by three men, Rockstar Gautham (Mahesh Babu) kills one of the three men (Kelly Dorji) and informs the police. Inspector John Basha (Sayaji Shinde) takes him into custody. A news reporter Sameera (Kriti Sanon) who recorded the incident airs the video and shows that Gautham had imagined killing Dorji. Gautham's recollection continues and he tells the police officer that his parents were killed in a bus.

A Gold Vinayaka Idol of value of nearly ₹100 million in the International Market is stolen by the temple priest (Vishvesh) of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple with the help of a Security Guard. The Idol, which actually belongs to the newly found treasure of the Temple is sold to a mysterious person who dies after his car meets with an accident. A kid takes the Idol from the ground and presents it to his friend who in turn presents it to her daughter in law. That man sells this Idol to a Goldsmith at Alappuzha of Kerala for ₹6,000. That Goldsmith sells it to another rich man at Mangalore of Karnataka for ₹37,000. He in turn sells it to another rich man at Shimoga of Karnataka for ₹1,90,000. This idol is sold to another rich man at Bellary of Karnataka for ₹0.5 million. Th idol is sold to a millionaire at Thiruchanur of Tamil Nadu for 2 million which in turn is sold at Madurai for 6 million which reaches to a Trader at Hyderabad for a value of ₹11 million.

Sanjay Sahu (Pawan Kalyan) is a post-graduate from Osmania University and is working as a gym instructor. He is in love with Indu (Kamalini Mukherjee) who wishes to marry him. The movie begins with Raghupathi (Nassar) being introduced as the eldest of his three brothers - the other two being Raghava (Tanikella Bharani) and Rajaram (Vajja Venkata Giridhar) and sister Swarajyam (Rajitha) and her husband (Chandramohan) with Chandu (Ram) as the only son of Raghava and sole inheritor of the property of 'R S Brothers'. Chandu plans the elopement of his cousin Swapna (Tamannaah) with her boyfriend (Navdeep) due to which he is ousted from the house and is isolated from his family by Raghupathi. However, Chandu tries to re-establish links with his family members, but to no avail. Meanwhile, on the last day of his college, Chandu and his friends meet their friend "Google" Gopi (Ravi Varma) who is depressed because his girlfriend is getting married to someone else. Chandu decides to stop the marriage and marry off her to Gopi. However, they kidnap Pooja (Genelia D'Souza) instead of Gopi's girlfriend due to a mistaken identity. After being chased by some hooligans - who are after Pooja - they escape with the exception of Chandu and Pooja who end up in forest. Chandu falls for Pooja who also reciprocates her feelings.

The film begins with a baby taking his first steps on a beach supported by his father. The narrator (Murali Mohan) states that, it is right for a father to support his child in his infancy, but questions whether the father should continue to hold the child's hand even after he is 24 years old. As the credits roll, a visibly angry Siddharth Siddhu Addala (Siddharth Narayan) begins verbally abusing all the fathers in the world. When queried about his disgust, he says that his father, Aravind (Prakash Raj), gives him more than what he asks for.
