Actresses Abhinaya and Umashree made their debut with this film. The film is directed, co-produced and written by Kashinath and produced under Sri Gayatri Productions banner. The film, upon release, met with positive reviews and declared a blockbuster with a cult status.It was remade into Hindi language with the title Anubhav(Hindi) starring Shekhar Suman.
The film was re-released on 29 November 2013 to cater to the modern audience making it a third time release.
Synopsis
The movie starts with Ramesh doing his routine job in Bangalore City. In his native city, his aunt lives with her children Gauri and Gunda. When Gauri attains puberty, her mother thinks of getting her married to Ramesh and writes a letter communicating the same though the village Sheregar. On hearing this, Ramesh starts daydreaming about his cousin and soon to be wife Gauri. He also tries to educate himself by trying to buy some adult books. Gauri however is still very immature and continues her playful acts like a little village belle. Ramesh travels to the village to prepare for the marriage and tries to woe Gauri without much success. He is however eyed by another village lady Padhi who dreams of using Ramesh as her ticket to the city. After the marriage, Ramesh is not able to consummate as Gauri runs away from him. This frustrates Ramesh and he walks out into the arms of waiting Padhi. They begin a lustrous affair and Ramesh ignores his wife completely. He even goes back to the city with Padhi without the knowledge of his family promising his wife to get her as soon as he finds a suitable home. Once back in the city, they start living as husband and wife. However, Padhi loses interest in Ramesh and eyes the men around. She falls into a trap by a man who is into prostitution selling women to far Mumbai. When Ramesh finds out about Padhi's treachery he is angry but feels helpless. He gets worried about his future when police start making enquiry about Padhi and the man with whom she was seen. Back in the village his aunt along with his wife travel to Bangalore when they find that their letters were unanswered. They cannot track him in spite of visiting his work place as he has resigned. Dejected they travel back to their village. When they enter home, they find that Ramesh is back in their home to make a new beginning. Ramesh apologizes to his wife and they embrace each other in love.Actors

Raghava (Upendra) is a typical jobless youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. He suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts, and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset. So great is his fear, that he prefers to sleep with his mother (Umashri) and have her accompany him to the bathroom at night. Dans les années 1930, Sylvie est confrontée à un drame : son père, trahi par sa femme, l'abat ainsi que son amant, puis il se suicide. Sylvie est alors confiée à la garde de son oncle, Monsieur Pierron, un libertin entouré de deux femmes. L'orpheline échoue dans un collège à l'éducation très stricte, où les responsables n'hésitent pas à avoir recours aux sévices corporels pour punir les étudiantes. Le collège est situé à la campagne et est isolé de tout, le courrier est filtré par la directrice, les filles subissent tous les mauvais traitements des adultes. Sylvie rencontre Claire qui la protège et devient son amie. Arrive alors une certaine Georgina, nouvelle enseignante qui s'avère être un homme déguisé, en réalité un meurtrier qui se cache pour échapper aux gendarmes. Il s'avère que Georgina (Georges) abuse de sa position et agresse sexuellement les jeunes filles par des attouchements ou encore les humilie en les faisant manger comme des animaux, dénudées et sans couverts. La directrice curieusement laisse faire car elle est subjuguée. Pour couronner le tout, l'employé du collège, Julien, est un vieux vicieux qui prend plaisir à regarder les filles nues lorsqu'elles se lavent. Pour compenser ces mauvais traitements, les jeunes pensionnaires ont des relations lesbiennes. Sylvie, d'abord effrayée, se laisse rapidement initier par Claire. Un jour, Claire est emmenée par sa famille, ce qui rends Sylvie malheureuse; Georgina (Georges) et la directrice s'en aperçoivent et initient Sylvie à la domination sado-masochiste. Les deux adultes monstrueux détournent la haine des filles d'eux en la faisant passer sur Sylvie. La pensionnaire la plus maltraitée, Sarah Klein fait une tentative de suicide, stoppée juste à temps. Pendant que la directrice emmène Sarah dans une maison de repos, Sylvie découvre qui est vraiment Georgina... qui finit par la contraindre à une relation sexuelle. Sylvie curieusement apprécie le moment.

Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler) goes to a cabin in the woods to write her second novel. Lost, she pulls into a gas station where there are three men loitering. They make small talk until she accidentally hits the panic button on her car, causing employee Johnny (Jeff Branson) to stumble backward into a bucket of water. Jennifer finds the cabin. Later, Matthew (Chad Lindberg), who has a social interaction disability, is contracted to fix the cabin's bathroom sink and toilet, which he successfully does. Jennifer abruptly kisses him on the cheek in gratitude, stating that he saved her from having to bathe in the swampy lake. He later boasts to the three men, revealed to be brash, reckless, and sadistic (when we see them again they are beating a fish with a bat), that "she likes me".

In 1996, Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) is fired from a Pittsburgh electronics store for having sex with his manager's girlfriend. His wealthy brother Josh (Josh Gad) announces at the dinner table at their parents' (George Segal and Jill Clayburgh) house that he has found Jamie a job as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Jamie tries to get access to Dr. Knight by hitting on his female employees until, exasperated, Dr. Knight unethically permits him to observe him at work, during which time he accidentally sees a disrobing patient, Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway), who suffers from early onset Parkinson's disease.
