Babu Antony is an Indian film actor. Working primarily in Malayalam cinema, Babu has also acted in other Indian languages films such as Tamil, Telugu and Hindi..
He made his debut in Bharathan's Chilampu (1986). He started his career doing antagonist roles but has also played the lead role in few films. He made a mark in Malayalam cinema through Fazil's 1986 thriller Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal. The film was remade into Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi and Babu Antony reprised his role in all the five versions. His career highlights include Vaishali (1988), Aparhnnam (1991), and Uppukandam Brothers (1993). According to reports, Babu is all set for his directorial debut in Piano.

Thavathiru Sivadas Swamigal (Nassar) runs a drama troupe in which Thalaivankottai Kaliappa Bhagavathar (Siddharth) and Melachivilberi Gomathi Nayagam Pillai(Prithviraj) are his direct disciples. Gomathi is left by his father in the troupe of Swami. Kali is found by Swami during a train trip where the boy is singing and begging alms. Impressed by his singing talents, Swami takes the boy with him. Gomathi and Kaliappa have relationship like brothers. They grow up together and stage many plays where Gomathi often plays "Sthripart" - the female role and Kali plays "sidepart"- supporting characters. While Vadivambal (Vedhicka), the female member in the group falls in love with Kali, the latter loves Rangamma (Anaika Soti), the princess of the zameen. Bhairava (Ponvannan) who is another student of Swami is a popular "Rajapart" - performing main title characters of a stage play. He becomes headstrong over his acting capabilities and does not attend the rehearsals for which he gets scoldings from Swami. After a quarrel, he leaves the troupe as he could not bear the torture of Swami. Swami does not give up and conducts an audition for the main character role of Soorapadman in which Kali and Gomathi perform. Kali gets selected, which leaves Gomathi angry. The reason behind Swami's bias towards Kali is never answered clearly to Gomathi which leaves him more frustrated.

The film begins in a city in Andhra, where the CBI raid a rich local politician's house. The Chief Officer is shown to be Jayam Ravi, who orders to seize all illegal items found. The politician is arrested, but he requests to come to the CBI office in his own car. It is later revealed that, no CBI raid was planned on his house and all that happened was a hoax. The politician gets angry and orders to hunt down the men who cheated him in the name of CBI. Aadhi (Jayam Ravi) is a gangster, specialised in drug and arms dealing. The hoax CBI raid was one of his mission to loot the politicians. Aadhi is living alone, as his mom and sister are angry with him for being a gangster. As it goes, Aadhi meets Karishma, (Neetu Chandra), a beautiful hotel waitress, who often gets humiliated by her boss. Aadhi falls for her, and saves her and takes her home to be with him. During a drug deal, Aadhi is being attacked and he is shot. Karishma saves him, treats his wounds and saves his life. Aadhi plans to leave to Mumbai, where he gets attacked in the airport, and it is revealed that Karishma is a part of the criminal gang that was trying to kill Aadhi. Then Aadhi is taken Hostage, where another victim reveals the true story about Karishma. Her name is not Karishma at all, but she is Rani, the right hand and partner in crime of a very powerful, cruel, ruthless criminal named Bhagavan Alias Mumbai Bhagavan (Jayam Ravi) who looks exactly like Aadhi. Bhagavan is a very feminine charactered guy, who loves to wear make up and walk, talk and do everything like a girl. But he still has a weakness for good looking girls. Bhagavan does so many jobs for his customers, such as include murder, robbery, and kidnap . At one such instance, Bhagavan gets angry by the behavior of a politician's cousin and murders him. The politician gets angry and promises to get Bhagavan murdered. As the politician is much more powerful than Bhagavan, he goes into hiding. But the Politician makes the search very intense and is very keen to find Bhagavan. So Arumugam comes to know about Aadhi, who resembles Bhagavan. So she traps him and makes him fall into her plan, so that he can be substituted as Bhagavan, on whom the politician wants to take revenge. In the climax, Aadhi kills Karishma and Bhagavan brutally. The film ends with Aadhi leaving the place while Bhagavan also moves away from the place which indicates that Bhagavan is alive and film also hints for sequel.

Ashok (Venkatesh) is an advocate who works as a junior along with his two friends Raghava (Maharshi Raghava) & Bhaskar for advocate Durga Prasad (Vijay Kumar) who always fights for Justice. Once Venkataratnam cheats Govt by saying that he has constructed a hostel for poor people without doing it, just showing on papers. Durga Prasad takes up the case and gathers all the proofs against him. Venkataratnam threatens Durga Prasad a lot who does not yield to it. Finally, Venkataratnam kills Durga Prasad and his wife Lakshmi in front of the court and destroys all the evidence. Before dying, Durga Prasad takes a word from Ashok, that he should win this case in any circumstances. Ashok gives respect to his words and takes up the case, but he fails to get the case admitted because there is no evidence. In that frustration, Ashok reacts on Venkataratnam publicly in court, which leads to his suspension from the court and he has been arrested.

Sachin Kulkarni (Prateik Babbar) is a student of mechanical engineering in Mumbai who aspires to become a filmmaker. His friend introduces him to cinematographer Anay (Manu Rishi). A few days later, Sachin learns from his sister that Jessie has gone to Kerala to visit her grandmother. He, along with Anay, ends up in Kerala to look for her. After several days, he finds her, apologises and she introduces him to her family in Kerala as her "classmate". Jessie denies she has any feelings for him, but agrees to be his friend. On the train journey back home, however, the two get closer and share a passionate kiss. Sachin is convinced Jessie loves him; the two meet several times and Jessie begins to admit that she also likes Sachin, but wants to refrain from any problems because she knows her father wouldn't give her hand in marriage to a Hindu. Consequently, due to various misunderstandings between Jessie's brother and Sachin, her parents learn of their supposed affair. They fix a match and schedule her wedding. The day arrives and midway through the ceremony, Jessie refuses to marry the groom, displeasing everyone in her family. Sachin, who had, without anyone's knowledge, come to Kerala to witness the wedding is ecstatic and secretly visits Jessie at her home. It is then that Jessie admits she has indeed fallen in love with him. Sachin and Jessie continue to love each other without the knowledge of their parents.

Palamattathu Varghese Mappila (Saikumar) is a wealthy Nasrani and retired captain from the Indian Army. He has four children, Christy (Mohanlal), Joji (Dileep), Jessy (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and Stella (Kanika). Christy is a high profile police informer who is working in Mumbai and getting high amounts as remuneration. His brother Joji goes to Italy to study theology, but later opts out of it after he falls in love with Meenakshi (Kavya Madhavan), daughter of the state home minister (Devan). His family has no clear idea about the nature of Christy's activities before Christy's brother-in-law tells a lie about him as Christy finds about brother-in-law's relationship between rowdies and cases which he was arrested for sex-racketing . All these come as a shock to Varghese Mappila. Varghese Mappila kicks Christy out of their house believing the brother-in-law. Joji is having a relationship with Meenakshi. Her parents come to know about that. And while returning home she is being kidnapped. For regaining the daughter her father calls Christy. Christy finds that his brother-in-law was the person who kidnapped Meenakshi. He fights with his brother-in-law and safely brings Meenakshi back to her home. The next day, police finds that Christy's brother-in-law was killed. Police arrests Christy for the crime. Christy's friend (Sarath Kumar) brings him out of the jail. Meanwhile, a police officer (Suresh Gopi) marries Stella. Christy helps Joji to marry Meenakshi by bringing her out of her house. Both Christy and the police officer finds out the killer of their brother-in-law was Joji. Knowing that the killer was Joji, Christy tells the police officer to arrest him instead of his beloved brother Joji.Meawhile, the villains attack mappila.To take revenge of his fathers death, christy along with gopi and sarath kumar kill the villains.
