Synopsis
Athe Mazha Athe Veyil tells the story of a family and the problems faced by its members. Raghuraman (Anoop Menon) and Sreelakshmi (Lena) are government employees and due to their heavy work load, they could find little time to spare for their only son. Sreelakshmi finds her husband's attitude as indifferent, and accordingly, she gets even more demanding. She insists that her husband should co-operate even more in the household chores, and not just leave her alone to do all the work by herself. Raghuraman refuses to comply with Sreelakshmi's demands and this gradually leads to a rift between the two. In the clamor to establish their own territories right, they forget about their only son.Actors

The film begins when Vasudeva Shenoy (Anoop Menon), a police constable by profession, proposes to his colleague Lakshmi (Lena) with a strong objection from Vasudeva Shenoy's mother. In the meantime Kunjunni Menon (Santhosh Keezhattoor), a thief, who disguised as a police inspector, falls in love with Lakshmi. Kunjunni Menon then convinces Lakshmi and her family to agree to marriage. Lakshmi later comes to know that her husband had cheated her. Lakshmi and Kunjunni however pretend to have an amicable marriage as she gives birth to Adithyan (Dulquer Salmaan). On the same day Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) was also born to Vasudeva Shenoy and his new wife. Laksmi further gives birth to two daughters. Kunjunni gets caught by Shenoy after committing a theft and was dragged to the jeep in front of his son (Adityan). Adithyan becomes very depressed and refuses to accept his father. Kunjunni unable to face his son, commits suicide. Adityan (Dulquer Salmaan), Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) and Deepika Pai(Namitha Pramod) befriend each other as schoolmates and the story proceeds to their adulthood.

The film story is about Mathews who is born as a boy but has been brought up as a girl. Hence what happens is that the mannerisms of a girl get imbibed into his character. When he goes up he becomes the point of mockery among the public. Girls laughed at him and boys make fun of him, while others ignore him as an outcast. It is this scenario that is included in the film in the point of view of the victim. It is then the Mathews decide to leave the town and he reaches the area where hijadas are prominent. Trivandrum Lodge, situated in Kochi and its inmates form the backdrop of the film. Abdu (Jayasurya) is a man who does odd jobs for living including being masseur at a spa and being the driver of a wealthy businessman. He is also obsessed about sex, being sex-starved. Shibu Vellayani (Saiju Kurup) is a cinema reporter who works with a not-so-well-known film magazine, and persuades women to sleep with him for roles in films. Kora (P. Balachandran) is a retired clerk from the secretariat who boasts about having had sex with 999 women in his life and who wishes to have a policewoman as his 1000th. Satheeshan (Arun), wants to be an actor. Shibu promises to help him and has even given Satheeshan a new name, Sagar. Arthur Relton (Janardhanan) and Peggy Aunty (Sukumari) are the oldest inmates. Relton teaches piano and lives in the world of music while Peggy Aunty runs a canteen inside the lodge.
