Synopsis
Danny, 7 ans, est le souffre-douleur des enfants de son école et n'a pas beaucoup d'amis. Pour ses parents, il est certainement un enfant modèle, se proposant à réaliser toutes les corvées de la maison. Il est passionné de baseball et voudrait s'entraîner avec son père. Seulement, voilà : ce dernier part pratiquement tous les soirs à des dîners d'affaires, laissant Danny sous la garde de Janelle, une étudiante. Mais celle-ci ne pourra pas le garder durant un certain temps. C'est alors que Marco, le meilleur et seul ami de Danny, lui parle d'une "liste noire", qui liste les enfants que plus personne ne veut garder. Danny va alors devenir de plus en plus méchant, terrorisant baby-sitter sur baby-sitter.Actors

Sam Leonard is the new kid at Bridgeport High School. On his first day, he is humiliated by the school jock Kyle Plunkett, becomes friends with Annie Dray, and falls in love with Kyle's girlfriend Vicki Sanders. When he goes to the guidance counselor for guidance, the counselor gives him the advice to lie to get the other kids to like him. Sam tells lies like "I drive a Porsche", "My dad's a rock star", "My dog ate my homework", "I never miss a shot" (at basketball) and that Vicki Sanders and his English teacher Mrs. Moran are lusting after him. That night, after an argument with his parents, he accidentally breaks the mirror behind his door. The next morning, Sam finds his dog actually eating his homework, he has a Porsche, he never misses a shot, and Mrs. Moran and Vicki Sanders are after him. Now he must find a way to fix what he's created.

The film takes place in a 1950s-esque alternate universe where radiation from space has turned the dead into zombies. This resulted in the "Zombie Wars", where humanity battled zombies to prevent a zombie apocalypse, with humanity the ultimate victor. The radiation still plagues humanity, as all those who die after the original contamination turn into the undead, unless the dead body is disposed of by decapitation or cremation. In order to continue living normal lives, communities are fenced with the help of a governing corporation named Zomcon. Zomcon provides collars with accompanying remote controls to control the zombies' hunger for flesh so as to use them as slaves or servants.

Willie Morris as an adult is looking back on his childhood in the early 1940s and how it was colored by his dearly beloved dog, a Jack Russell Terrier whom he had named Skip (Enzo). Jesse "Jess" Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) is a twelve-year-old aspiring artist living with his financially struggling family in Lark Creek. A young, naive boy named Billy Forrester (Luke Benward) has a weak stomach and vomits easily. Lester Dwervick (Tim Young) has always been sort of different. The sickly teen is too shy to make friends, and lives in a trailer park. Because of these reasons, his classmates and teacher view him as a "white trash outcast". To make matters worse, Lester's mother is an alcoholic tramp who often brings home drunken men from the local bars. Lester has nobody to confide in, and often draws and sculpts birds and other animals to keep him hopeful of the future. One day, he is being savagely tormented by a local bully when Sheriff Patterson's (Richard Elfman) daughter Judie (Tiffany Shepis) sticks up for him. Thinking he has finally found a friend, Lester begins to feel happy for the first time in years and begins to draw pictures for her. One night, Lester goes to find Judie to ask her if she wants to be his girlfriend. Before he even has a chance to ask her, he sees his worst bully drunkenly kiss her. Judie sees Lester, who is running away in grief. Knowing there's nothing left for him anymore, the pressure of it all finally mounts and Lester swirls into a jealous rage and screams at his mother's latest boyfriend. He chases Lester into the cornfields outside his home and viciously strangles him to death then hangs him, making it look like a suicide, leaving his corpse near a scarecrow.

Walter Black (Mel Gibson) is a depressed CEO of Jerry Co., a toy company nearing bankruptcy. He is kicked out by his wife (Jodie Foster), to the relief of their elder son Porter (Anton Yelchin).
