The film stars Vijay in the leading role as a spoilt college brat who turns into a kickboxer to prove himself. Bhumika Chawla and Monal are the leading ladies, while Dhamu and Vivek play supporting roles. The film's soundtrack was composed by Ramana Gogula while the background score was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film released on 12 April 2001 to positive reviews and was declared super hit .
Synopsis
Badri (Vijay) is the youngest son of a family and a careless guy, always going around girls and enjoying with them. His womanizing habits are a source of heartburn for his father (Kitty). However, his elder brother, Vetri (Riyaz Khan), a kickboxer and his father's favourite son, is very fond of him. Janu (Bhumika Chawla), Badri's neighbour, is in love with him, but it is just one sided as Badri considers her a good friend and a source of money and cars to impress girls (Janu's father is a garage owner). He falls in love with Mamathi (Monal), a rich girl, and poses as a rich guy to impress her. However, she soon finds out Badri has lied to her. Mamathi dumps Badri and insults him in front of his father. Badri's father, tired of his son's antics, disowns him. Later Vetri is attacked by his enemies and is bedridden, unable to take part in the kickboxing championship. Badri decides to fight for his brother and to redeem himself in his father's eyes by fighting in the championship match against Rohit (Bhupinder Singh), who happens to be Mamathi's new boyfriend. He defeats Rohit, redeems himself in front of his father's eyes and finally accepts Janu's love.Actors

Subrahmanyam (Pawan Kalyan), the youngest son of a family is a wastrel and a ladies man. His father (Raja Krishnamoorthy) always scolds him but his brother Chakri (Achyuth) who is a boxer, and friend Jaanu (Preeti Jhangiani) dote him. Meanwhile he falls in love with Lovely (Aditi) and for this he keeps on telling lies to her that he is very rich. Jaanu in the middle truly loves Subrahmanyam and gives him everything he asks her for thinking that he is doing these for her but he does it for lovely. The incidents that led Subrahmanyam to change, the way he realised the true love of Jaanu and the final twist of him becoming a boxing champion is the real plot to be seen.

Matt Buckner (Elijah Wood), a journalism major, is expelled from Harvard University after cocaine is discovered in his room. However, the cocaine belongs to Jeremy Van Holden (Terence Jay), his roommate. Buckner is afraid to speak up because the Van Holdens are a powerful family, and Jeremy offers him $10,000 for taking the fall. Matt doesn't initially accept the money, but reconsiders and uses the money to visit his sister Shannon (Claire Forlani), her husband Steve Dunham (Marc Warren) and their young son, Ben (James Allison) living in London. There, Matt meets Steve's brother, Pete (Charlie Hunnam), an acerbic and imposing Cockney who leads the local football hooligan firm - a group of football supporters that arranges fights after matches - and teaches at a local school. Steve asks Pete to take Matt to a football match between West Ham United and Birmingham City, though Pete is reluctant to take a "Yank" to a football match, because of the xenophobic attitude of his friends. He is persuaded because Steve will only give the money Pete needs to Matt. After defeating Matt in a fight, Pete decides to take Matt to the football match, thinking he might learn something about football.

Jim Fowler is Western University's football hero and is constantly besieged by reporters. Cha Tae-sik leads a quiet life running a pawnshop. His only friend is a little girl, So-mi, who lives next door. So-mi's mother, Hyo-jeong, is a heroin addict who steals drugs from a feared organized crime group. She pawns her camera bag to Tae-sik; he does not realize it has the stolen drugs inside. Crime lord Oh Myung-gyu sends his subordinates, brothers Man-Seok and Jong-seok to retrieve the drugs; Jong-seok and his henchman Lum Rowan torture Hyo-jeong to find the drugs' location, then kidnap her and So-mi. Two gangsters, Du-chi and "Bear" go to Tae-sik pawn shop, but Tae-sik easily overpowers them. When he finds that Hyo-jeong and So-mi have been kidnapped, he gives them the bag, and Rowan kills Bear to set him up as the fall guy.

The main character, J.J. McQuade (Norris), is a former Marine and a Texas Ranger who prefers to work alone. He lives in an old trailer in the middle of nowhere with a pet wolf. The film opens with McQuade involved in an intense battle with Mexican bandits and a gang of horse thieves from which he emerges unscathed (saving several Texas State Troopers). Shaking off the dust, McQuade returns to El Paso, Texas to attend the retirement ceremony of his fellow Ranger and close friend Dakota (Jones). After the party, his commander attempts to curb his "lone wolf" attitude by insisting he work with local Texas State Trooper Kayo Ramos (Beltran), a tough but clean-cut and polite Latino. Although divorced, McQuade is on very good terms with his ex-wife, and loves his teenage daughter Sally. McQuade also seems to like Sally's boyfriend Bobby, who is enlisted in the US Army and is respectful of McQuade being a retired Marine.
