Ballet Shoes is a 2007 British television film, adapted by Heidi Thomas from Noel Streatfeild's 1936 novel Ballet Shoes. It was produced by Granada Productions (formerly Granada Television) and premiered on BBC One on 26 December 2007. It is directed by Sandra Goldbacher.
A previous adaptation of Ballet Shoes was produced in serial
format by the BBC in 1975 and directed by Timothy Combe.
Synopsis
A young orphan, Sylvia Brown, and her nurse Nana come to live at her great-uncle Matthew (Gum) 's house in London. He is a paleontologist and is reluctant to take her in, but relents when he learns that he is her only living relative. Gum is away a lot on travels collecting fossils, but he sends Sylvia letters and presents and she learns to love him.Actors

Ali Rose (Aguilera) moves to Los Angeles after she quits her bar job when her boss refuses to pay her. Once in L.A., she tries and fails at every audition she does until one night, she finds herself unknowingly in a burlesque club when she hears the music on the street. She finds Tess (Cher) and the dancers performing “Welcome to Burlesque” and decides to pursue a career on stage once she meets Jack (Gigandet). Phoenix is a peasant girl who dreams of becoming a dance star in the big city. One day, a previous resident of the town comes and offer ten slots at his factory to those interested in the town. Phoenix wins one, but she gives it to her best friend Snow instead. They both leave their town and travel to Shanghai. Snow takes a job in garment factory. Phoenix accidentally gets a job there too. She sneaks out at night and takes another as a janitor in a dance studio so she can learn enough to be in a hip hop street dance competition. After running into her several times, the owner of the studio helps her take dance classes. Eventually, he (Ron Chan), begins to drop his playboy exterior and takes her out to dinner. One day though, Phoenix catches him saying cruel things about her on the phone, although he tells her its just publicity. Suspicious, she follows him to the airport and sees him meeting another girl there. Phoenix flees back to her home, leaving Ron and Snow confused about where she went.
