Singeetam Srinivasa Rao (Telugu: సింగీతం శ్రీనివాసరావు, born 21 September 1931) is an Indian film director, Known for his works in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films.
He made his directorial debut with the Telugu Film Nīti Nijāyiti in 1972.
He has garnered two National Film Awards and three Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards. He directed films along multiple genre's including cross over cinema (America Ammayi, America Abbayi), comedy (Michael Madhana Kamarajan- Tamil), fantasy (Aditya 369), folklore (Bhairava Dweepam) etc. He co-produced and directed the first Indian black comedy, silent film Pushpak stands out as one of the best experimental films of Indian cinema.

This is the parallel story of a love story and a war. Dupati Hari Babu (Varun Tej) is a lower caste man studying in Chennai, in 1936. He falls in love with a girl named Sita (Pragya Jaiswal) who studies with him. They end up falling in love with each other. And after finishing their college, they go back to their hometown, a village named Devarakonda. There, Hari's grandfather and mother live in the same house. Eventually, Hari adjusts with the style of the village, realizing he is from a lower caste. But that does not matter to Hari or Seeta, and they are still in love, though nobody knows about it. Hari makes friends with Eeshwar (Nikitin Dheer), Seeta's brother who is very close with her. Eeshwar eventually finds out about the love birds, and tells his grandfather who raised them about Hari and Seeta's love story. His grandfather then raises a fight between castes in the village, and believes that when all the castes are fighting, it will kill Hari as well. The fights get very serious, and hundreds of people start dying from both the sides. This causes the villagers to set up 2 fences for each caste side, and no one from either of the castes is supposed to cross the fence of the latter. While all this happens, Eeshwar and his grandfather find a nice groom for Seeta and try to marry her off to that man.

Sandeep 'Sandy' (Allu Arjun) is a next-gen youngster who parties hard and has a modern outlook but his idea towards marriage are traditional. As he gets a job in USA, his working parents (Suhasini and Ashish Vidyarthi), who got married against their respective parents' wishes, ask him to get married. He accepts and tells them that he will marry a girl of their choice in a ceremony that lasts 5 days. He also refuses to see his bride until the marriage. The story is about three different women who work at a fashion export company. Janaki (Urvashi) is a typist who lives with her husband and her baby to earn for a living as her husband lost his job in a factory. Pappamma (Rohini) is a house keeper who lives with her drunkard rickshaw pulling husband and earns for both their living and her husband's drinking expense. Satya (Revathi) a computer graduate and designer who waits to get married. Her marriage was stopped by her once when the groom's family listed a lot for dowry. She joins the fashion company as a fashion designer and stays in a hostel. All the women in the company face a common threat in the form of manager Pandian (Nassar) who is a womanizer. Sethupathy (Kamal Haasan) is an honest and upright police officer. When he arrests four bigwigs Dharmaraj (Nagesh), Francis Anbarasu (Delhi Ganesh), Nallasivam (Nasser) and Satyamoorthy (Jaishankar), they escape justice easily and return to take revenge. They kill him and poison his wife (Srividya). She escapes and gives birth to twins with the help of another woman Muniyamma (Manorama) but the babies are separated and each woman believes that the other is dead because of the events happening next to birth. One of the twins, Raja (Kamal Haasan) grows up as a mechanic with Muniyamma, while the other twin, Appu (Kamal Haasan), a dwarf, grows up in the circus with his mother.

He secretly listen to Ahalya's tele-con with Rao where Rao wants to settle both the ransom and sever his ties with her. Ahalya pleads and coaxes him to help her get the ransom which Rao is willing to pay. The child takes a fancy to Avinasi and wants him to be the man in their life, and gets him to agree.Ahalaya wants either Rao’s or Mehta'a money which Avinasi is holding, whereas Avinasi is in love and wants to be that protective person. Rao appoints Mehta to handle the ransom and what follows is a series of mix-ups.

The film opens with an historical story in which the goddess Parvathi while performing dance with her husband Lord Shiva drops her nose stud named "Mookuththi" on the Earth and because of which a temple was raised named "Mookuththi Amman temple" in Tamil Nadu. The nose stud has many powers in it and so an evil powered soul named "Kaalabhairav"(Prakash Raj) waits one thousand years patiently to capture it.

Chandu (Nagarjuna) and Suri (Rajendra Prasad) are pilots and thick friends. Indu (Raveena Tandon) and Padma (Kasthuri) are very good friends. Chandu gets married to Indu and Suri marries Padma. Indu and Padma become pregnant.Indu meets with a car accident and she becomes infertile. Padma gives birth to twins, Ram and Lakshman. Indu and Chandu adopt Ram. After three years, Lakshman is infected by cancer. He needs to undergo bone marrow transplantation. Indu refuses and flees with Ram to Delhi fearing that Chandu will force her to send Ram for operation. Later on, she realizes her mistake and boards a flight to return to her husband so that Ram can be operated upon. Pakistani militants hijack the flight and they divert the flight's route. Lakshman is on his death-bed. How Chandu rescues the flight's passengers and puts an end to the story forms the climax.

Prabhu acting in duel role in the film. The story revolves around a professor named Professor Chandramouli (Prabhu Ganesan) experimented on transferring body soul from one body to another. Professor Chandramouli is married to Janaki (Kushboo). He got help from a student Aravind (Prabhu Ganesan) who is a bright student and a star in the school. The story flows when the two souls of professor and Aravind transferred and it makes uncomfortable to both parties and their girls. Meanwhile, a wealthy girl-abuser Baba (Nizhalgal Ravi) took professor's favorite student and sold her to a gang. However, soul changed professor and Aravind came to rescue her, where Baba flee from the police. Baba came to know about the miracle medicine that produced by professor to change souls and when soul changed professor and Aravind came to correct their souls at a cemetery. Professor gets chaged, but Aravind's soul went on to a cat. Baba came quickly and hit professor and Baba changed his soul to Aravind's body. Cat with Aravind's soul put into a nearby well and he flee with the miracle medicine. The new Aravind behave very differently and engaged in many bad activities. Finally, professor get to know about the change that happened. He finally found the miracle medicine which was hidden in the worshipped anthill. At last after series of events, Aravind's soul released from cat and Baba's soul trapped within a chicken. In between these scences, there are some comedy scenes between Josiyar (Goundamani), who is married to two wives and his friend Senthil. , which is a very shortened version of the (Madhu +2) stage play which is written by Crazy Mohan who also wrote this story .
