Synopsis
Été 1979 à Pößneck dans le District (Bezirk) de Gera en Thuringe. Les familles Strelzyk et Wetzel ont le projet audacieux de s'enfuir de la RDA à l'ouest avec une montgolfière faite maison. Mais si les conditions de vent sont parfaites, Günter Wetzel pense la chose trop dangereuse, persuadé que le ballon est trop petit pour huit personnes et son épouse Petra a peur pour leurs deux enfants. Par conséquent, ils abandonnent la tentative d'évasion au dernier moment. Doris et Peter Strelzyk veulent maintenant s’aventurer seuls avec leurs deux fils. L'un d'eux, Frank, est tombé amoureux de Klara Baumann, la fille du voisin Erik, qui travaille pour la Stasi, et lui écrit une lettre d'adieu.Actors

Abahachi (Michael Herbig) and his blood brother Ranger (Christian Tramitz) are an inseparable pair since Ranger saved Abahachi from a speeding train on an unguarded railroad crossing. When they aim to buy a pub with the monetary help of Shoshone chief Stinking Lizard ("Listiger Lurch" in the German original - "Astute Lurch") through real estate agent Santa Maria (Sky du Mont), the deal (and pub) collapse, and Stinking Lizard's son, who has delivered the loan, is killed by Santa himself. Upon their return to their Shoshone tribe, they find themselves set up by Santa Maria and are unjustly charged with murder.

In August 1942, a group of German soldiers enjoy leave in Cervo, Liguria, Italy after fighting in North Africa. An awards ceremony is held for several soldiers in the unit, where one platoon's new commander, Leutnant (Lieutenant) Hans von Witzland (Thomas Kretschmann) is introduced. During the 16th century, horse dealer Michael Kohlhaas is taking his horses to market; when he must pass through a local baron's lands, the baron seizes two of his horses, even though tolling rights were abolished in the country. When Kohlhaas discovers that his loyal servant was attacked by the baron's guard dogs, and that his horses have been injured and abused, he attempts to sue for monetary compensation, but his lawsuit is dismissed because the baron has a kinsman in the court. Later, Kohlhaas's wife dies from injuries suffered at the hands of the baron's men.
