Synopsis
Dan est veuf depuis plusieurs années et se consacre totalement à son fils Tyler et à son métier de chef des pompiers. Lors d'une intervention pour un début d'incendie, il fait la connaissance de Kate, une fleuriste. Reconnaissante, celle-ci propose d'aider Dan à la décoration florale du bal de la Saint-Valentin organisés par les pompiers au profit des orphelins du feu. Petit à petit, Dan et Kate tombent sous le charme de l'un de l'autre, tout comme Tyler et Rebecca, la fille d'une collègue de son père…Actors

Wolf Lodge est une propriété perdue dans les grands espaces canadiens. Dans la nuit sombre et glacée, il s y passe des choses étranges. Wade, un jeune américain, arrive avec sa guitare et son chien dans un snack-bar situé en bordure d'une route peu fréquentée. Mal accueilli, il se voit néanmoins proposer du travail par Dick Winfield, le propriétaire du Wolf Lodge. Paul Hegstrom (Ritter) is a seriously disturbed family man who puts his wife and children through physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Drawing what he calls "courage" through a whiskey bottle, he severely beats his wife, Judy (Harley Jane Kozak) until one day his eldest daughter Tammy confronts him. Seventeen-year-old Rock Burdock (Evan Williams) wins a nationwide contest for his tree to be planted across the White House. Faith Russel (Kari Matchett), marketing representative of the company Box of Toys who is in charge of the project, visits Rock and his father Corey (Andrew McCarthy). Corey planted the tree in their garden when Rock was born. He has reservations about the idea of transporting his tree cross country, but agrees under the condition that they deliver the tree themselves. While father and son drive the truck, Faith follows them most of the time in her car. Father and son are unable to strengthen their bonding and further dissensions arise along the way. However, Rock films the entire trip on camera and posts it on his blog. This gathers more and more fans on the internet and on the road and even causes some media coverage. Rock's internet acquaintance and love interest Katie (Paula Brancati) joins Rock on the way. Together they reach Washington, D.C on Thanksgiving. Meanwhile Faith's boss (Ted Atherton) secretly changed the plan. He wants to repeat the contest every year and therefore decides to erect the tree rather than planting it. After Faith's attempts to persuade her boss fail, the team now cuffs Rock to the tree and protest against its destruction. Using their media attention soon more people support their protest. Finally the President of the United States calls the Park ranger on his cell phone and tells him to plant the tree. Later Rock, Corey, Faith and Katie are invited to attend the Christmas lighting of the tree by the President.

Billy and his mother moved from Boston to rural Vermont after a car accident which left Billy fatherless and with a gimp leg. Billy has a hard time adjusting to life in Vermont and has trouble making friends. While shopping at the mall after school one day, Billy stumbles upon a ramshackle petting zoo, where the animals are kept in poor conditions. After seeing a small pony with a horn taped to its head and finding out that it is about to be sold for slaughter, Billy instead makes a deal with the zoo keeper and buys the pony. Once Billy takes the pony home, he cleans her up and cares for her. The pony appears to be pregnant and eventually foals, under the watchful eye of Billy and his friend Carolyn. The pony's foal grows a horn and turns out to be a unicorn, who grows at a tremendous rate. Billy names the colt Nico from the letters found in the word "unicorn".
