It was shot in Fortaleza, Guaramiranga, Maranguape, and Jaguaruana, all cities in Ceará, as well as in Recife and Rio de Janeiro.

Synopsis
The 18-year-old Bezerra de Menezes (Magno Carvalho) begins his studies of medicine in Rio de Janeiro, then capital of Brazil. Abolitionist, Bezerra entered politics and was several times elected alderman and congressman. However it was his work with the most humble people that brought him fame, becoming known as the doctor of the poor.Actors

In 1968, the Dominican friars of São Paulo became part of the resistance against the military dictatorship in Brazil. Under the pseudonyms of "Tito", "Betto", "Oswaldo", "Fernando", and "Ivo", the friars join the Ação Libertadora Nacional, a communist guerrilla movement headed by Carlos Marighella. The friars' superior, Diogo, recommends them to be more careful, and they decide to disperse themselves.

The film starts with the penance of Sage Bhadra who becomes a hill with the blessings of Lord Rama. In later centuries, Dammakka, the tribal lady and worshiper of Lord Rama unearths and looks after the idols of Rama on the hill and awaits someone who can construct a temple there. On the other hand, Gopanna and his cousin Kamala fall in love and marry after a small conflict with their parents. After the marriage, Tanisha, the emperor of Golconda, with the recommendation of Akkanna and Madanna (the uncles of Gopanna), appoints Gopanna as Tehsildar of Husnabad. Thus, a Muslim who had been the Tehsildar to the place is dethroned for the sake of Gopanna. That ignites disgust among a few groups who attempt to murder Gopanna. However, Dammakka saves him while he lies unconscious on the bank of Godavari. She shows him the place of Bhadragiri and Gopanna becomes an ardent devotee of Rama. After a series of incidents, he decides to construct the Rama Mandir on the hill. He collects funds from people and with the help of Kabirdas, his guru, completes the construction of the temple. Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Seetha and Anjaneya live in invisible forms in the place during the construction. They keep on guarding Gopanna until he accomplishes his mission. Thus, with immense bhakti on Lord Rama, Gopanna becomes Ramadasu.

Le film raconte l’histoire d'Olga Benário Prestes (Camila Morgado). Née à Munich en Allemagne en 1908 de parents juifs. Olga devient une militante communiste. Après avoir libéré son amoureux Otto Braun de prison, ils sont forcés de fuir vers l’Union soviétique, pays dans lequel ils reçoivent un entraînement de guérilla. Olga se distingue très vite parmi les membres du Parti communiste de l'Union soviétique où elle connaît Luís Carlos Prestes (Caco Ciocler), qui deviendra l’un des principaux chefs communistes du Brésil. En 1934, quand Luís Carlos Prestes retourne au Brésil, désigné par l'Internacional Communista (le Mouvement communiste international) pour diriger une révolution armée, Olga est désignée pour l’escorter. Bien sûr, pour survivre, ils doivent se cacher et vivre en clandestins tout en s’organisant pour déstabiliser le gouvernement de Getúlio Vargas (Osmar Prado). In 1929, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini (Rod Steiger) is still faced with the 20-year-long war waged by patriots in the Italian colony of Libya to combat Italian colonization and the establishment of "The Fourth Shore"—the rebirth of a Roman Empire in Africa. Mussolini appoints General Rodolfo Graziani (Oliver Reed) as his sixth governor to Libya, confident that the eminently accredited soldier and fascist Grande can crush the rebellion and restore the dissipated glories of Imperial Rome. Omar Mukhtar (Anthony Quinn) leads the resistance to the fascists. A teacher by profession, guerrilla by obligation, Mukhtar had committed himself to a war that cannot be won in his own lifetime. Graziani controls Libya with the might of the Italian Army. Tanks and aircraft are used in the desert for the first time. The Italians also committed atrocities: killing of prisoners of war, destruction of crops, and imprisoning populations in concentration camps behind barbed wire.
