The film stars Vidya Balan and features Ali Fazal, Supriya Pathak, Rajendra Gupta and Tanvi Azmi in supporting roles. It tells the story of Bilkis "Bobby" Ahmed, a Hyderabadi woman who aspires to be a detective despite facing a series of obstacles.
Synopsis
Living in a middle class orthodox family of Old Hyderabad, Bilqis Ahmed aka Bobby (Vidya Balan) is a wannabe private detective. To pursue her passion of spying, Bobby solves petty neighbourhood cases. Such as helping Tasawur (Ali Fazal) a TV show host, to get rid of marriage proposals brought home by his parents. Bobby finally gets her big break when a rich NRI Anees Khan (Kiran Kumar) hands her a case of finding two missing girls named 'Nilofer' and 'Amna' with a birth mark on their hand and shoulder, respectively. To solve the case, Bobby takes up many get-ups such as 'beggar', 'peon', 'hawker', 'nerd student', 'astrologer' and even a fake ' TV producer'. After locating the targets, Khan pays her a tremendous fee and also offers huge amount of money to both girl's fathers for reasons unknown to Bobby. Khan also hands over his 3rd and final case of finding a boy with a missing toe named 'Ali'.Actors

This is a story about an architect Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor). While he was a top student in his school and college days, he is not having much luck in finding work, clients or projects. All he does, seems to go wrong. Raj goes to a gypsy named Haseena Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla). She advises him that his luck is not good and he needs a lucky charm or a person who can change his life. Afterwards, Raj meets Priya (Vidya Balan), who is ready to help the citizens of a community by trying to save a community center. Although they do not get along at first, Raj eventually realizes that Priya is his lucky charm. Priya ends up helping Raj through sticky situations and Raj eventually figures out that she is, in fact, changing his life. Knowing this, Raj lies to Priya by telling her that he will help her save the community center, but instead, he is trying to build a shopping mall there so he can finally be recognized as an architect. He also falls in love with Priya and she too falls for him. However, when Priya finds out the truth about what Raj is trying to do, she becomes very upset and hurt. To make up for his lie, Raj sells everything he has, not caring about his job. He proposes a plan to save the community center and ends up winning Priya's love and admiration. After Priya and Raj finally get together, Raj's life changes and he becomes prosperous.

Raja Chandra Pratap Varma AKA King (Nagarjuna Akkineni) hails from a royal family, having taken over the legacy and riches after the death of his father Raja Ravi Chandra Varma (Sobhan Babu). King has a younger brother Ajay (Deepak), mother (Geetha), maternal uncle (Dharmavarapu Subramanyam) and his late father's three sisters, who are married. Before King leaves the airport, this mysterious guy is after King. A few days later, King and Swapna are discussing something next to a graveyard. Same mysterious Guy from airport tries to shoot King, but misses. King chases Shooter to the graveyard, but Shooter suddenly disappeared. Munna calls King's cellphone. King tells Munna that he's in a graveyard. Munna asks, "Are you Ok?" King says, "I'm ok." Unfortunately, Swapna shoots King from behind. King sees Swapna's face. King realizes that Swapna was working with Shooter. Swapna shoots King again. King's presumed dead. Munna tells Police that King went missing. At least 1 day later, when Police takes Munna to Hospital Morgue, a Dead Body looks like King. Reshma (Vidya Balan) is running away from her house to Chennai, a day before her marriage. However, she dances with whips and using erotic movements which annoys the film's director, Abraham (Emraan Hashmi). He edits out Reshma's entire dance sequence from the film. The film fails at the box office much to the dismay of the producer Selva Ganesh (Rajesh Sharma), who later offers Reshma a song in his upcoming film, and suggests that she now be referred to as "Silk".

Murli Prasad Sharma alias Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt), a gangster who is in love with the voice of Janhavi (Vidya Balan), a radio jockey, devises a plan to meet her when she announces a quiz contest featuring the life and beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi, to be aired on 2 October, the birthday of Gandhi. To prepare for the contest, Munna's sidekick Circuit (Arshad Warsi) kidnaps and bribes a group of professors to provide the answers for Munna. After winning the contest, Munna is granted an interview with Janhavi wherein he presents himself as a professor of history and a Gandhi specialist. Janhavi subsequently asks Munna to present a lecture on Gandhi to a community of senior citizens who live in her home, called the 'Second Innings House.' To prepare for this event, Munna engages in intense study at a Gandhi institute. For three days and nights (and without food or sleep), Munna reads about the life and ideologies of Gandhi.
