Borbaad (Bengali: বরবাদ) is a Bengali film directed by Raj Chakraborty and debut starring Indraneil Sengupta's nephew Bonny Sengupta and Rittika Sen in lead roles. The music was scored by critically acclaimed Arindom Chatterjee. Trailer of this film was released on 6 June 2014. The film released on 15 August 2014. The film is a remake of 2007 Tamil film Polladhavan starring Dhanush.

Synopsis

Joy,a worthless chap whose ambition in life in is to buy a bike so that he can impress Nandini. While his life improves after he buys the bike as he lands a job soon after, trouble starts soon after, when his bike gets stolen. He starts getting in to an altercation with Imran, the younger brother of Akram, the local don, who is extremely hot headed than his elder brother. However the elder brother never harms elderly people or people other than target and only targets people like him. How Joy manages to keep up his rivalry with Imran and yet come out unscathed till the end and retrieves his bike is what the story is all about.

The whole film is narrated by the protagonist of the film Bonny Sengupta who is running back to confess his love to his cousin Koushani Mukherjee. The film begins with Abir (Ankush Hazra), a young, energetic photojournalist working for the private newspaper Anandabazar Patrika (ABP), witnessing Naxalites robbing a local bank. He chases them and manages to click photos of the robbers. When he tries to escape, he is stopped by a young woman Naina (Srabanti Malakar) who assumes he is the culprit and helps the robbers to take his camera. However, Abir manages to secure the memory card of the camera. The cops catch him, and to prove that he is a press photographer he shows the photos to them. The cops identify everyone in the photos except the gang leader (whose face is covered by a mask). At his office, Abir again meets Nayana, who has newly joined as Article Editor. Payel (Sayani Ghosh) also works in his office and has feelings for Abir. However, Abir does not reciprocate her feelings and treats her only as a friend.

The film starts with an accident. Then it shifts back several months before when Joyita (Payal Sarkar), a girl from the village of Balurghat comes to Kolkata to give an interview for her work.
