Cadavre Exquis première édition is a 2006 Canadian French language film. The film is a collective project based on the principle of the Exquisite corpse parlour game. The original screen play was written by Adrien Lorion, David Étienne and Michel Laroche and eleven directors participated in the making of the film, each of them making their debut.

Synopsis

Roxy, a glam-rock star past his prime who has just made a pact with the Devil, goes through much emotional gear shifting when a dozen different writers and directors take control of his destiny and rewrite his life story as they see fit. In his predestined life, Roxy meets a vide variety of colourful characters: women he once loved but has trouble recognizing today; a crooked dealer who keeps leading him astray; a drag queen on the rebound; a failed playwright; a woman barkeep who's interested in Roxy; and, of course, Mephistopheles in all his disguises.

Parallèlement, cette dernière fraternise avec un voisin comptable aux prises avec un conjoint étouffant.

Gérald Boulet was in music from an early age. In the end of the 1960s, he founded the rock band Offenbach with his brother Denis. The group saw great success and peaked in the 1970s with the joining of Pierre Harel. After many years, Offenbach disbanded and Boulet started a solo career with great success in Québec. After many years of drug and alcohol abuse, he was diagnosed with colon cancer and died in 1990, at the age of 44.

Requiem pour un beau sans-coeur was shot in 35 mm and uses flashback and flashforward narratives. French Canadian criminal Reggie Savoie (the character is based on Richard Blass) is in prison, his son is visiting (five years have passed since their last meeting). During a riot Savoie manages to escape. A manhunt ensues while he enjoys life outside of prison, tortures people, and seeks revenge on someone who testified against him. Three days after his escape Savoie is killed. The story is told through different points of view through the film, eight in total including Savoie's son, an assistant to a policeman following Savoie, and a journalist.
