Crazy is a 1999 documentary film by Heddy Honigmann on the traumatic effects of war on the soldiers of United Nations peacekeeping missions.

The documentary shows Dutch soldiers that have served in UN missions in the former Yugoslavia, Kosovo, Lebanon, Cambodia, and Rwanda. The heroic duties contrast with the local horrors. The music, the favorite songs of the soldiers, serves the eight men and one woman interviewed as a key to unlock the chest of vivid memories: frequent trips through "Bomb Alley"; food convoys; the fall of Sarajevo; and camp life. One of the soldiers is marines commander Patrick Cammaert, who since has served in further very important UN missions. He chose the song "Crazy" (performed by Seal) to accompany the bloodbath of the attack on the Sarajevo market.

The film is regarded as an accusation against the Dutch Defense organization on the care for its soldiers. However, a 1997 study conducted by the Free University of Amsterdam on 3500 military personnel that served in UN missions since 1975 showed that one out of five soldiers had not fully come to terms with their experiences.

The documentary tells the history of the secret U.S. Army unit of 1100 troops that was set up in 1944 and operated until 1945 in the final stages of World War II in the fight against German troops in various parts of Europe. They used a combination of different ways of visual, sonic and radio deception to convince the enemy of the presence of specific Army units that were in fact operating elsewhere. The unit included a large number of visual artists and designers who documented their experiences in paintings and sketches. The materiel employed in the 23rd Army Headquarters Special Troops' operations included decoys such as inflatable rubber tanks and jeeps as well as powerful loudspeaker trucks playing sound recordings of troop activity.

Though Okuzaki ultimately holds Emperor Hirohito accountable for all the suffering of the war, ("I hate irresponsible people...the most cowardly man in Japan, is the Emperor Hirohito"), he painstakingly tracks down former soldiers and officers, coaxing them into telling him about the deaths, often abusing them verbally and at times physically in the process (at one point, Okuzaki states that "violence is my forte"). The people he talks to give different accounts of what transpired almost 40 years earlier, some saying that those killed were executed for desertion after the war was already over, while others state that they were shot for cannibalizing New Guinea indigenous people.

The Invisible War features interviews with veterans from multiple branches of the United States Armed Forces who recount the events surrounding their assaults. Their stories show many common themes, such as the lack of recourse to an impartial justice system, reprisals against survivors instead of against perpetrators, the absence of adequate emotional and physical care for survivors, the unhindered advancement of perpetrators' careers, and the forced expulsion of survivors from service.
