The story carries on from the previous film— Inspector Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan)— in charge of a local police station in Kanpur and resides there with his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), brother Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) and stepfather (Vinod Khanna). A boy gets kidnapped from a school therefore Chulbul deals with the problem. In Kanpur, an assassin murders a witness who is about to testify against a dreaded don. Chulbul tracks the assassin down, killing him at a coffeehouse. The don is Bachcha (Prakash Raj), a struggling politician. After several public altercations, Bachcha's brother Genda (Deepak Dobriyal) convinces him to get rid of Pandey, threatening Chulbul's stepfather to kill his entire family if Chulbul keeps on interfering in Bachcha's criminal activities.

Chulbul Pandey, a young boy, lives with his younger half-brother, Makhanchan "Makkhi" Pandey, stepfather Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna) and mother, Naina Devi (Dimple Kapadia) in Laalgunj, Uttar Pradesh. He has a troubled relationship with his stepfather and Makkhi. After 21 years, Chulbul (Salman Khan) becomes a policeman. Chulbul, who calls himself "Robin Hood" Pandey, lives with his family. Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) is in love with Nirmala (Mahi Gill), whose father Masterji (Tinu Anand) opposes the relationship. Babli (Ranbir Kapoor) is a small-time car thief brought up in an orphanage and manages to charm everybody who knows him. His mantra is "Na sammaan ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay" (No yearning for respect, no fear of humiliation). Babli falls head over heels for Tara (Pallavi Sharda) whom he met at a wedding, but he is clearly not her type. However, she in turn, insults him. Babli is at the same time being searched for by Inspector Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and his wife, Head Constable Bulbul Chautala (Neetu Kapoor). Babli steals a car from outside Tara's office and sells it to a Hawala King Bheem Singh Chandel(Javed Jaffrey). When he finds out that the car belonged to Tara, he offers her to come with him to Chandigarh to get it back from the goon. She agrees to go with him and eventually finds out that her car was stolen by none other than Babli himself. Babli convinces her that he was doing all these pity crimes to support the orphanage kids and will change if given a chance. Later, Babli and Tara steal the car from Chandel and run back to Delhi. On their way home, they find a bag full of hawala cash in the car that belongs to Chandel. Babli decides to keep the money for orphanage but is later arrested by Chulbul and Bulbul Chautala. Tara gets Babli free by offering them all the money, but discovers that Chandel has tracked them down and kidnapped all the kids in orphanage. Now Babli and Tara sneak into Chautala couple's house to steal back the money only to be confronted by them. On knowing the whole story, the Chautala couple decides to help. Babli goes in with all the cash and negotiates with Chandel to set all kids free, but just then Chautala barges in with his police force leading to a shoot out. Later, in a one-on-one fight Babli beats Chandel black and blue and rescues all the kids. The story ends with childless Chautala couple deciding to adopt Babli and not letting him to be a thief anymore.

Yash Thakur (Sanjay Kapoor) and Suraj Prakash (Salman Khan) are inseparable friends. After completing their studies, they go their different ways. Yash takes over from his father's (Paresh Rawal) underground and mafia-like business, while Suraj becomes an officer of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Yash's dad is attacked by a rival gang, and he loses the use of his leg, making him become a wheelchair user. Meanwhile, Yash marries his sweetheart Prathna (Shilpa Shetty). After completing his training successfully, Suraj is assigned to the investigation against his friend, Yash, which shocks Suraj, but which he accepts. Yash's criminal dad has many contacts, and soon Yash also comes to know of Suraj's job, and his assignment. Suraj must now convince Yash that his father is not what he appears to be, and at the same time take criticism and pressure from his superiors for not proceeding with the investigation against Yash.

The storyline was intended to have been about terrorism and how an anti-terrorist intelligence officer Captain Raja Sethi (Sanjay Dutt) who is part of a secret organisation known as Force 10 is sent on a mission to find an Afghan terrorist named Nasheman (Raveena Tandon). Thakur Suraj Pratap (Jackie Shroff) sees a young woman performing pooja at a temple, and instantly falls in love with her. He finds out that the woman's name is Pooja (Ashwini Bhave), and belongs to a poor family, consisting of her dad, Ramlal, her mom, and a brother named Raju (Salman Khan). He approaches Ramlal for the hand of Pooja, and Ramlal is delighted to accept him as his son-in-law. They are married with pomp and ceremony. Pooja is very fond of Raju, and takes him along. At the Thakur's palatial home, they are introduced to Jyoti (Rambha) Pratap's sister. Years later, all have grown up. Pooja has been unable to have any children, and Raju and Jyoti are in love. One day Suraj meets Vaishali (Shweta Menon), a stunning courtesan, and decides to make her his mistress. He disregards any advise against this decision, and even casts Raju away, and cautions him from having to do anything with Jyoti or his household. He even threatens to divorce Pooja over Vaishali. Unable to bear the shock, Ramlal passes away. Raju's attempts to convince Suraj to let go of Vaishali are all in vain, as Suraj openly weds Vaishali, and asks Pooja to accept this decision or else leave his house. Pooja will now have to decide to stay with Suraj or leave him with his new wife.

Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai is about Sooraj Dhanrajgir (Salman Khan), a rich playboy lightening the financial burden of his industrialist grandfather (Anupam Kher) by spending his riches on alcohol and women. His grandfather calls him for some official work back home, beginning with a hotel project in Ooty. There his true character emerges as he starts running after pretty women. The first one he lays his eyes on is Komal (Twinkle Khanna). He convinces her that she is his childhood friend and sweet-talks her into falling for him. But soon she sees him for the player he is and walks out on him.

Military Raaj is an action flick, where Mithun plays the lead role. Mithun is an army major who fights to avoid crimes when there are crime situations, for which is often blamed by police stating that army has no power to fight crimes and it is a duty of police.
