Synopsis
Jeune peintre mentalement instable, Francesco di Villaverde a la manie d'étrangler ses partenaires féminines une fois qu’il leur a fait l’amour. Alors qu'il supprime une femme mariée sur une plage, son meurtre est observé par un voyeur. Ce-dernier rapporte l’information à des gangsters qui imaginent un plan machiavélique pour faire endosser à Francesco un meurtre qu’ils doivent commettre. Pendant ce temps, suite à la mort de son épouse tuée par Francesco, un milliardaire américain confie l'enquête à un détective privé, Bob Martin, et lui demande également de retrouver un collier appartenant à la défunte. Martin fait rapidement le lien entre le jeune peintre et les nombreux crimes, mais comme il ne dispose pas assez de preuves contre le criminel, il va utiliser sa propre femme pour l'attirer et le piéger.Actors

Werner Rütten, constructeur d'une usine de turbines, est soupçonné d'avoir empoisonné sa femme afin d'être Helga Dahms, une femme blonde plus jeune. L'ambitieux procureur Robert Kessler, qui est avec Ingrid Hansen, la fille de son supérieur Wilhelm Hansen, a réuni des preuves avec la plus grande minutie. Son instruction et sa plaidoirie convainquent le jury de la culpabilité de l'accusé. Kessler demande une peine de prison à perpétuité. Mais le procès connaît un coup de théâtre quand une femme se lève dans le public et affirme que l'accusé est innocent et que sa femme s'est suicidée. La mondaine Laura Beaumont fournit aussi un alibi à Rütten en témoignant. Le doute l'emporte tant elle paraît crédible, Rütten est libéré immédiatement.

Jill Johnson (Carol Kane) is babysitting the children of Dr. Mandrakis (Carmen Argenziano) at their home. When the children are asleep, Jill receives a telephone call from a man who asks her if she has checked the children. At first, Jill dismisses the telephone calls as a practical joke; however, as the calls become more frequent and threatening, Jill becomes frightened and decides to call the police, who promise to trace the caller if Jill keeps him on the telephone line long enough. Jill, frightened to extreme measures, arms herself as she receives one final call from the nefarious stalker. Soon after the conversation, Jill receives a call from the police, only to find out that the stalker is calling from inside the house. A light comes on at the top of the staircase, and Jill sees the stalker's shadow. She immediately runs to the front door to scream for help.

Jerry is an upbeat man who works at a bathtub factory, and lives in a modified apartment above a bowling alley with his dog Bosco and his cat, Mr. Whiskers. Jerry is a man with an innocent, almost child-like demeanor, and suffers from delusions and hallucinations that manifest in the form of his pets talking to him. Bosco often represents his good intentions while Mr. Whiskers represents his more violent nature. One day, his manager compliments his hard work and chooses him to help organize an employee barbecue, and he gladly accepts the opportunity to work with his workplace crush, a British woman named Fiona. The following day he asks her out on a date. She initially agrees, though with reluctance, but then stands him up to go to a karaoke party with two other girls who work with her in the accounting department at work, Lisa and Alison. After the party, Fiona's car won't start, leading her to flag down Jerry as he drives by. Fiona offers to take him out for a late dinner to make up for standing him up on the original date, but on the way, Jerry accidentally hits a stag which crashes through his windshield. Jerry's hallucinations show the deer crying out in pain and begging Jerry to kill it so he slits the deer's throat. Fiona, terrified, runs off into the woods. Jerry pursues her and accidentally stabs her. Apologizing for his actions, Jerry kills Fiona to end her pain.

The story concerns a quiet, clean-cut young insurance agent and Vietnam War veteran named Bobby Thompson (Tim O'Kelly) who murders his young wife, his mother and a grocery delivery boy at home, then goes on an afternoon shooting rampage from atop a San Fernando Valley oil storage tank. Several motorists and passengers are wounded or killed on the nearby freeway. When the police respond and start to close in on him, he flees and takes refuge in a Reseda drive-in theater where aging horror film icon Byron Orlok (Boris Karloff) is about to make a final in-person promotional appearance before retiring from show business. Thompson, perched on the framing inside the screen tower, resumes his killing spree after sunset, randomly shooting theater patrons as they sit in their cars watching the film. In a climactic confrontation, the elderly Orlok slaps the murderer into submission. As the police take him away Thompson remarks with apparent satisfaction that he "hardly ever missed".
