Heinz Weiss (12 June 1921 – 20 November 2010) was a German film actor.
Weiss is best known for playing the role of Phil Decker in the Jerry Cotton series of films and the role of Captain Heinz Hansen in Das Traumschiff.
He died on 20 November 2010 in Grünwald near Munich.

Dans les années 1970, il apparaît dans des séries policières comme Das Kriminalmuseum ou Die fünfte Kolonne . Mais il acquiert ensuite une plus grande célébrité en interprétant le capitaine Heinz Hansen dans Das Traumschiff entre 1983 et 1999. Il joue aussi dans des téléfilms.
En 1999, suite à un sepsis contracté durant la guerre et qui n'a jamais été complètement soigné, il doit se faire amputer la jambre droite et se déplacer dorénavant en fauteuil roulant. Il se retire près de Munich. En 2003, il publie une biographie.

Biography
Diplômé à la fin des années 1930 après une formation au théâtre de Stuttgart, il est enrôlé dans la Wehrmacht en 1940. Après avoir été blessé, il revient à la comédie. Ingénieur électronicien spécialisé dans l'équipement maritime, Julien Dantec apprend qu'un grand quotidien organise une course de navigateurs en solitaire, autour du monde et sans escale. Cotton is called in to investigate a crime on Broadway because a FBI agent has died while working undercover. Before he has expired he got rid of the booty from a recently committed huge robbery. Where he disposed of it is unknown. All of the culprits are arrested by the FBI but the main villain Costello is soon broken free by a hitherto rivaling gang. His new accomplices presume he knew the location of the booty and he tries to live up to their expectations. The demised agent's girl-friend Cindy cannot help but notice she needs protection. Jerry Cotton hears her calling and stops at nothing to catch Costello.

A prolific bunch of safe crackers retrieves a great deal of booty. They work all over the USA and kill everybody standing in their way. Once it is brought to the notice of FBI director Mr. High that these crimes are committed by the same gangsters, he doesn't hesitate to assign special agent Jerry Cotton. Pretending to be a criminal himself, special agent Cotton joins the criminal underworld. He demonstrates his toughness by beating up some street fighters in a bar and pretends he wanted to join forces with a gang of equally ruthless characters. After he has managed to infiltrate the targeted gang, he eventually finds himself in a duel with their boss Kilborne.

While on a flight from Toronto, Ontario, to Vancouver, British Columbia, the pilots at the controls of a Canadair North Star, a large commercial airliner, fall victim to food poisoning. Approximately half of the passengers have also been incapacitated by eating the same fish served to the pilots. After the stewardess (Corinne Conley) asks for help from the passengers, George Spencer (James Doohan), an ex-Second World War Spitfire fighter pilot is forced to take over. His wife (Kate Reid) is able to help him at the controls, but he is worried about his sick son. A storm over Vancouver makes matters worse, with George not only having to overcome harrowing wartime flashbacks, but also struggling with the controls of an unfamiliar aircraft, in order to bring the airliner down safely.

In 1943, having expended enormous resources on recapturing escaped Allied prisoners of war (POWs), the Germans move the most determined to a new, high-security prisoner of war camp. The commandant, Luftwaffe Colonel von Luger (Hannes Messemer), tells the senior British officer, Group Captain Ramsey (James Donald), "There will be no escapes from this camp." Von Luger points out the various features of the new camp designed to prevent escape, as well as the perks the prisoners will receive as an incentive not to try. After several failed escape attempts on the first day, the POWs settle into life at the prison camp.

Le Berlinois Willi Kuhlke a vécu à Los Angeles avec sa femme et son beau-père jusqu'à la veille du début de la guerre. Il est revenu à Berlin pour rendre visite à sa tante à héritage malade. Il n'a jamais vu son fils Pietro qui est né en Amérique. En raison de leur connaissance des habitudes américaines, les trois sont chargés d'exécuter l'« opération Campagnol ». Il s'agit de faire venir un U-Boot sur la côté américaine et faire exploser une usine de Lockheed.
