Scientists discover that a violent storm is heading toward New York and begin the warning process throughout the city. They believe that something is wrong with the natural barometer patterns and that an unprecedented event is imminent. Told as a flashback to the early 21st century with a wraparound sequence narrated by the orangutan Lawgiver (John Huston) in "North America - 2670 A.D.", this sequel follows the ape leader, Caesar (Roddy McDowall), years after a global nuclear war has destroyed civilization. Une voiture heurte un objet invisible; le sang se répand à partir d'une source invisible qui devient visible lorsque l'homme qui saigne, meurt. Les gangsters terrorisent la ville en tant que "gang invisible", s'enveloppant dans des écharpes et des trench-coats afin d'être visibles pour leurs victimes, même s'ils sont censés être invisibles en dessous. Une fois qu'ils découvrent Nanjo, qui défend ses seuls amis, ils le battent et le laissent pour mort.
