Eight Taels of Gold (Chinese: 八兩金, Ba ya jin) is a 1989 Hong Kong drama film directed by Mabel Cheung. The film was selected as the Hong Kong entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 63rd Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Synopsis

Après 16 ans d’exil aux Etats Unis où il exerça le métier de Taxi, Slim (Sammo Hung) décide de retourner en Chine auprès de sa famille, et constate les changements survenus lors de son absence. Ce retour est aussi l’occasion de retrouver sa cousine Jenny, qui retourne, elle aussi, dans la maison de ses ancêtres, pleine d'incertitude face à l'accueil de ses parents avec qui, elle n'a communiqué qu'une seule fois en 16 ans.

Due to constantly suffering blows to his head, Ken's is physically traumatized and once able to defeat Yamada, he also collapses.
