Madeline Rose "Maddy" Phillips (Kristen Stewart) is 12-year-old girl who loves to climb. Her father Tom (Sam Robards) has climbed Mount Everest so it runs in the family. Several years earlier, Tom fell more than 100 feet during a climb and because her parents Tom and Molly (Jennifer Beals) are afraid she might hurt herself, they have ordered Maddy not to climb. Tom had some internal injuries from that earlier fall which he did not know about and now the injury has paralyzed him from the neck down. There is an experimental operation costing $250,000 which can save him, but insurance will not pay for the operation and the family does not have the money. Harderbach Financial's president Brisbane (Michael Des Barres) refuses to loan the amount and does so by putting loopholes in a contract Molly signed (he is really trying to avoid loaning any money at all). When asked if he has a heart, Brisbane coldly responds "This is not an emotional issue, Mrs. Phillips. A bank has no heart. Only paper in a vault". That is when Maddy first gets the idea to rob the bank.

Un grand et mystérieux bandit, Harry Fourmilière, est en train d'effectuer un hold-up dans une banque : il se révèle être nain et se déguise en bébé lorsque cinq policiers arrivent. Le landau où il avait caché son argent roule dans la poussette que Harry avait utilisé pour duper les cinq policiers et tombe dans le terrier de Bugs qui commence déjà à compter les billets. Finster (le bandit) se fait passer pour un bébé abandonné et réussit à entrer dans le terrier de Bugs. Le mini-bandit manque de récupérer son argent lorsque Bugs lui cherche un jouet, le bébé s'échappe de son enclos grâce à des couches et en emportant l'argent mais Bugs réussit à le reprendre après s'être fait assommé. Il se refait assommer par Finster lorsqu'il éteint la lumière. Bugs s'aperçoit que Finster se rase, fume et est tatoué et regarde enfin les informations à la TV apprenant le vol de banque de Finster. Le lapin se venge en "lavant" Finster dans son lave-linge, en le faisant tomber, en lui donnant une fessée et finalement, le livre à la police.
