Rappadikalude Gatha is woven around Gatha, a young girl who finds happiness in drugs and music. She marries a doctor of humble indisposition. Their marriage runs into difficulty but, after several traumatic experiences, the couple are reconciled. The film is a sharp indictment of society, its awry priorities, on the frustrations of the youth, their disappointments, and how youngsters get hooked to drugs. On the other side, the film is also on the conflicts and complexities of marital life.

He is disfigured in an accident in his college lab, while experimenting with acids. Everyone who used to adore him begins to hate him and keep away from him for his looks. He meets a beautiful woman Ragini (Sharada). She is willing to accept him despite his disfigurement. But after a while, Srinivasan has doubts about the identity of this woman; he doubts that this woman is human. Sreeni marries Ragini and they lead a happy life. But until the climax nothing of Ragini's profile is revealed.
