Sreelatha Namboodiri is an Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She has acted in more than 200 films. Khadeeja in 1967 was her debut movie. She paired up with Adoor Bhasi in most of the films and they portrayed a comedy couple. Actress Kumari Thankam is her aunt.

Biography

She was married to Late Dr. M.K. Parameshwaran Namboothiri known as Kaladi Namboothiri, an Ayurveda Doctor and an actor in 1979. They both acted together in Papathinu Maranamilla, a 1979 movie. She took a break from movies after marriage and settled in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur. After her marriage to Dr. Namboothiri, she converted to Brahmin community and became an Antharjanam. The couple have a son, Visakh and a daughter, Ganga. She made a come back, after her husband's death in 2005 , with Pathaka. She currently resides at Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala.

Highlight of the movie is the demolition techniques shown in the climax, which is new to mollywood. Another highlight of this movie is that it touches some social issues.

Sunny (Kunchacko Boban), a young priest, is put in charge of a church in a rural area. The church runs an old age home which is sponsored by Vavachan (Hareesh Peradi). There Sunny meets Sister Sophie (Miya George). The two working sincerely in the old age home and in the process discover the motives behind Vavachan's philanthropy. He has an agreement with the home that he gets the unclaimed dead bodies for the medical college run by his son (Krishna Kumar), which is always short of cadavers. Meanwhile Sunny meets Animol, the daughter of the church grave digger. She is a bright student who aspires to follow in the footsteps of Mother Theresa but due to financial troubles is unable to continue her education. Sunny offers to help her by getting an admission in a nursing college in Bangalore. Animol, while helping out to take care of an elderly woman from the old age home hospitalised in Vavachan's hospital witnesses her being smothered to death by Vavachan's son. Unable to hide her burden she confesses to Sophie and Sunny who advises her to reveal it to the police. But afraid for her life and her father Animol refuses and prepares to leave for Bangalore.
