The film is about a Japanese tourist (Rin Sakuragi) looking for her sister who works as a nurse in Indonesia. Ironically, her sister already died. Meanwhile, three friends, Kayla, Barry, and Ariel, are disturbed by the ghost of a nurse.
Suster Keramas was released in Indonesia on 31 December 2009 and sold more than 800,000 tickets, compared to other local films at the time that were unlikely to sell even 300,000 tickets. However, the film was controversial in Indonesia because of its sexual aspects.

In Japan, a young girl nicknamed Gorgeous (Kimiko Ikegami) has plans for a summer vacation with her father (Saho Sasazawa) who had been in Italy scoring film music. Her father returns home and surprises Gorgeous by announcing she has a new stepmother, Ryoko Ema (Haruko Wanibuchi). This upsets Gorgeous as her mother had died years earlier. Gorgeous goes to her bedroom and writes a letter to her aunt asking if she could come visit her this summer instead. Gorgeous' aunt replies and allows her to come visit. Beauty consultants Sun and Aki are sent to their company's new branch in Shenzhen to be the branch managers. They discover later that their boss had lied to them and they were actually used by him to explore business opportunities in that region. They go to the disco after work and meet a strange man called Mr Cheng. Cheng requests their services for his wife, saying that it is inconvenient for her to travel to their centre. Sun takes up the offer and follows Cheng home because she is attracted by his wealth. However, she is shocked to discover that the Cheng couple are actually ghosts and she flees in horror. The Chengs are unhappy with Sun for discontinuing her service, because she had already accepted their "payment". They threaten Sun to fulfil her promise or they will turn nasty. Meanwhile, the Lai brothers unknowingly opened a disco during the Hungry Ghost Festival and now they have attracted a large number of phantom patrons. Sun and the Lais seek help from Mrs Bud Lung, an expert ghostbuster, to deal with the spiritual beings.
