Thavathiru Sivadas Swamigal (Nassar) runs a drama troupe in which Thalaivankottai Kaliappa Bhagavathar (Siddharth) and Melachivilberi Gomathi Nayagam Pillai(Prithviraj) are his direct disciples. Gomathi is left by his father in the troupe of Swami. Kali is found by Swami during a train trip where the boy is singing and begging alms. Impressed by his singing talents, Swami takes the boy with him. Gomathi and Kaliappa have relationship like brothers. They grow up together and stage many plays where Gomathi often plays "Sthripart" - the female role and Kali plays "sidepart"- supporting characters. While Vadivambal (Vedhicka), the female member in the group falls in love with Kali, the latter loves Rangamma (Anaika Soti), the princess of the zameen. Bhairava (Ponvannan) who is another student of Swami is a popular "Rajapart" - performing main title characters of a stage play. He becomes headstrong over his acting capabilities and does not attend the rehearsals for which he gets scoldings from Swami. After a quarrel, he leaves the troupe as he could not bear the torture of Swami. Swami does not give up and conducts an audition for the main character role of Soorapadman in which Kali and Gomathi perform. Kali gets selected, which leaves Gomathi angry. The reason behind Swami's bias towards Kali is never answered clearly to Gomathi which leaves him more frustrated.

Sam had an accident during his Engineering Studies, and he loses his memory of the past 6 years. To regain his memory, the Doctor advices Sam's cousins to take him on a journey.So they travel through the places where Sam had traveled before losing his memory. On the journey they reach a palace. Everyone from the palace identifies Sam from long ago, and tells him to bring back Arathi but Sam does not remember Arathi, so they tell excuses about bringing Arathi. After some days they meet a girl named Malika( Nisha Agarwal ). After meeting Malika Sam reigns his memory and tells his cousins that he knowns Malika. So they go to Malika and ask her if she knows Sam. She tells them that some years ago he had come to the palace and had met her sister Arathi and that they fell in love. But the royal family didn't accept their love and so they tried to run away from that palace. Several royal soldiers chased Arathi and Sam down through a waterfall. They try to escap by a boat, Sam tells Arathi to stay on the boat till he unhooks it.But when he unhooks the boat The soldiers came so he couldn't help Arathi to escape from the boat. But the soldiers didn't help Arathi, this makes jojy think that someone in the palace doesn't want Arathi to live.

The story is set in the town of Ranasthali, in year 1989. Bhagat Panigrahi (Nara Rohit) is preparing to become a police officer. Ganesh (Raghava Lawrence), a young man with a deep fear of ghosts who refuses to even go out after 6pm, moves into a new house with his mother, father and wife not knowing that it is the residence where Muni met his death and where his spirit now resides. Muni enter Ganesh's body and Ganesh starts behaving in a rude manner, his family couldn't understand why his behaviour is weird so they seek the help of a priest (Nasser). Priest asks the ghost about his whereabouts. Ghost says that he is Muniyaandi and starts saying his flashback. Muniyaandi was a kind-hearted poor man living in the slums with his daughter and other people. Muni's friend is Marakka Dhandapani MLA who uses Muni to make him win in elections and promising that he would give lands to poor people. Dhandapani wins the election but he cheats Muni. Muni fights with Dhandapaani but he kills both him and his daughter. Dhandapaani lies to poor people saying that Muni and his Daughter had fled with the money he had given Muni for the welfare of the village residents. Ganesh accepts Muni and he enters his body. Ganesh enters Dhandapaani's household and terrorizes him and his assistants. Dhandapaani comes to know that the spirit of Muni resides in Ganesh's body so he sets a contract killer (Rahul Dev) to finish him. In the climax, at Ayyanaar temple Dhandapaani confesses to people that he only killed Muni. Muni talks to people and eats the feast prepared by his people. Muni then resides again in Ganesh and finishes off Dhandapaani. Ganesh comes back to normal.

Kasi (Arjun) comes to Mumbai to track his parents' killers. He is successful in finding the first two. In order to find the third one, he joins a goon Ravi Bhai (Raj Kapoor). This Ravi Bhai is in loggerheads with his own brother, Mani Bhai (Fefsi Vijayn). Mani Bhai runs another gang and the leading goonda in this gang is Siva (Jagapati Babu). Arjun and Siva know each other from a meeting in jail. But now they both work for enemies hence they are now enemies. Arjun gets into an argument with Ravi Bhai and Siva gets into an argument with Mani Bhai and they both leave the gangs and unite. Siva leaves his brother in Arjun's custody. Mani Bhai and Ravi Bhai wanting to separate Siva and Arjun plot to kill Siva's brother by killing Arjun's lover (Vedika) and diverting Arjun. Siva's brother is killed and Siva gets mad at Arjun.after that Siva and Kaasi become mutually understood to kill all the gangsters including Ravi Bhai son, but Kaasi demands to not to kill Ravi sons and agrees to help him to kill all the villains.at the end on a train every gangster was killed, and Kaasi is was fired by mani. Siva tries to kill Ravi's son but Kaasi shows pistol to Siva, by seeing that Kaasi is injured with bullet Siva changes its mind and on spot Kaasi died.
