Synopsis
Jude, un jeune cinéaste, est décédé. Ses amis se réunissent à sa demande et visionnent une vidéo qu'il a réalisée avant sa mort. Ils sont filmés durant cette réunion. Jonny (Jonny Lee Miller) is working as a courier and becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his life. He asks long-running school friend Jude (Jude Law) to help him into the North London criminal gang run by his uncle Ray (Ray Winstone). Jim Terrier (Sean Penn) is a former special forces soldier who, in his 50s, has become a black-op mercenary. The film opens with Harry Mitchel (Colin Farrell) (convicted of GBH under never-explained circumstances) leaving prison. He is propositioned by his friend and former partner-in-crime, Billy Norton (Ben Chaplin), to live in a nice 'acquired' apartment, but on condition he work for Billy's criminal boss.
