Free Love (1974)

Amore libero - Free Love, also known as The Real Emanuelle, is a 1974 erotic-adventure film directed by Pier Ludovico Pavoni.

It represents the acting debut of Laura Gemser, who moved in Italy from Netherlands to take part in the film. Gemser was credited in the opening credits of the film and in the advertising material with the name Emanuelle as a reference to the more famous Emmanuelle played by Sylvia Kristel. The film, shot in the Seychelles, was a box office success and launched the career of Gemser in Italian genre cinema.

Synopsis

Francesco Ferrero est envoyé à l’île d’Émeraude, où une mine d’argent doit être ouverte, après la disparition de l’ingénieur Maestrelli. Il est accueilli par Chaval, un homme étrange qui lui offre l’hospitalité et commence son travail, ou du moins essaie, car en plus des distractions causées par les femmes locales, et Janine en particulier, qui ont l’habitude de se baigner nues, elles commencent divers revers qui ralentissent son travail. Francesco tombe amoureux de Janine, mais malgré le fait que seul le bonheur règne dans l’île, une présence obscure se profile.
