Angelo Infanti (16 February 1939 – 12 October 2010) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in over 90 films between 1961 and 2010. He was born on 16 February 1939 in Zagarolo, Italy. He died on 12 October 2010 in Tivoli, Italy due to cardiac arrest.

He is perhaps best known to non-Italian audiences as Fabrizio in The Godfather. Fabruzzio was a bodyguard to Michael Corleone who was hiding in Sicily. Fabrizio betrays Michael by setting up explosives in his car, but kill his new bride instead. In the novel, Fabrizio is later shot dead in revenge for killing Michael, but this did not appear in the film.

Biography

Son rôle le plus connu est celui du garde du corps dans Le Parrain, tourné en 1972. Il est le garde du corps en Sicile qui trahit Michael Corleone en piégeant sa voiture. Mais l'attentat échoue et tue la jeune épouse de Michael, Appolonia. La même année, Angelo Infanti incarne le mafieux Lucky Luciano dans Cosa Nostra de Terence Young. En 1982, il reçoit en Italie le David di Donatello du meilleur second rôle masculin pour sa performance dans Borotalco de Carlo Verdone.

Il est le père de la comédienne Rossella Infanti (née en 1977).

Angelo Infanti meurt d'un arrêt cardiaque, le 12 octobre 2010, à Tivoli.
