It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The film is based on the 2012 production Giselle, performed by The Royal New Zealand Ballet which many of the cast members are part of.
Synopsis
Giselle danse pour Albrecht dont elle tombe éperdument amoureuse. Quand elle découvre que son soupirant est déjà fiancé, Giselle perd la raison et s'effondre, inanimée. Bientôt, elle réapparaît sous la forme d'une wili, jeune fille transformée en fantôme. Leur amour sauvera-t-il Albrecht et Giselle d'une danse éternelle ? In 2008 while rehearsing for a charity event, actor Joaquin Phoenix, with Casey Affleck's camera watching, tells people he's quitting to pursue a career in rap music. Over the next year, we watch the actor write, rehearse, and perform to an audience. He importunes Sean Combs in hopes he'll produce the record. We see the actor in his home: he parties, smokes, bawls out his two-man entourage, talks philosophy with Affleck, and comments on celebrity. I'm Still Here is a portrayal of a tumultuous year in the life of actor Joaquin Phoenix. With remarkable access, the documentary follows the Oscar-nominee as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician. The film is a portrait of an artist at a crossroads and explores notions of courage and creative reinvention, as well as the ramifications of a life spent in the public eye.

Wild Style takes place in early '80s New York and centers around graffiti artist Zoro (played by Lee Quiñones) and his encounters with an uptown journalist named Virginia (played by Patti Astor). In the West Side's Lincoln Square neighborhood in Manhattan, there is tension between an Anglo gang, the Jets, led by Riff, and a Puerto Rican gang of immigrants, the Sharks, led by Bernardo.
