Synopsis
Gunahon Ka Devta is an action film starring Mithun Chakraborty and Sangeeta Bijlani in lead roles. Baldev Raj Sharma is an honest and diligent Police Inspector and was selected by the Police department to felicitate and honor him in public for his truthful service, but things take an ugly turn, when he is arrested and stripped off his title for a brutal killing, and he is imprisoned. His wife alone bring up their son, Suraj. Like his father, Suraj too becomes a Police inspector and his only aim is to find out the truth behind his father's false implication. The Climax reveals the true killer.Actors

Crime and corruption have taken over Bombay City without any solution. A rash of kidnappings of young women takes place. One auto-rickshaw driver Auto Kesariya is behind this crime. The policemen of Kala Chowki Police Station are doing little to stop these crimes. Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Arjun Verma is reinstated and assigned to this case. Arjun gets himself deeply involved in this disappearance and the kidnappings and faces the shock and trauma of finding skeletal remains of young women who have been abducted as well as body parts stolen from innocent patients from hospitals. His personal life also turns upside down as his fiancée abandons him on his wedding day, while his niece is abducted and held for ransom, and above all Arjun Verma himself becomes the target of assassins hired by influential politicians and senior police officials.

Bharti, a law student, lives with her widower and blind dad. Ravi Shankar Singh is a singer and dancer; Bharti is a fan of him and never misses his music concerts. One day Bharti is shocked to see Ravi being arrested by the police. She finds out that Ravi has confessed to the killing of a man, Rana Singh, and will soon be hanged. Bharti attends Ravi's last concert, but Ravi abducts her and forcibly marries her. After the marriage, Ravi is arrested and appears in court. It is revealed that Ravi and Bharti had conspired together to overturn Ravi's death penalty to life imprisonment, but the court is still not convinced and upholds Ravi's death penalty. Pratap Tilak(Nana Patekar) is the grandson of Bheeshmanarayan Tilak a freedom fighter. Pratap starts gambling and this leads to a spoiling attack of Bheeshmanarayan as he dies. Pratap's mother Durgadevi(Farida Jalal) enraged of all this asks him to leave the village and go away. Pratap comes to Mumbai where he saves life of chawl owner, Laxminath's(Paresh Rawal) son Atul(Atul Agnihotri). Laxminath decides to keep Pratap with him. When they grow up Atul falls in love with Mamta(Mamta Kulkarni), who is the daughter of a builder named Yograj(Tinu Anand). Pratap keeps laughing at press reporter Megha Dixit (Dimple Kapadia) who lives in the chawl and keeps on fighting injustice by writing about it in newspapers. Pratap teaches people to become strong and fight for themselves instead of waiting for other people to help them. Chattursingh Chita(Danny Denzongpa) and Yograj plan to build a resort and the place they arrange communal riots mass killings and burn the houses of people. Laxminath is murdered by Chattursingh Chita. Pratap learns that Megha's parents were murdered by Chattursingh Chita and she was raped by him. He proposes marriage to her. Mamta leaves her father's house and comes to Atul's house. Pratap kills the corrupted ministers, the judge and the police officer. He is caught and ordered to be hanged till death. Chattursingh Chita plans to kill Pratap but dies by Pratap's hands. This story is about a brave person who decides to face injustice and is ready to lay his lifedown for this cause.
