The film was released on 2 July 2010 and went on to become a box office hit. I Hate Luv Storys was partly filmed in Queenstown, New Zealand.
Synopsis
Simran (Sonam Kapoor) loves Bollywood romances so much so that her life has begun to resemble one. With her awesome job and a "Mr. Perfect" fiancé, Raj (Sameer Dattani), she lives a dreamy life. But then comes Jay (Imran Khan), who brings a fresh joy into her life. Jay is an assistant to a director who is famous for his love story films; however, Jay hates love stories. He is a disbeliver of love. He first hates Simran for her obsession with romance, and Simran also has a bad impression of him, but soon after, the two become friends.Actors

Mohit Chadha (Ayushmann Khurrana) learns how to drive a car on the morning of his promotion from Junior Executive in Marketing to Senior Executive. He goes for lunch with Mayera (Sonam Kapoor) after the promotion, where he proposes to her. Meanwhile, Mayera's father, V.K. Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor), is transferred to Animal Husbandry. V.K. Sehgal does not approve of their wedding, as he thinks Mohit would not be able to provide for her and give her happiness. V.K. goes to Mohit's office and challenges him: if he passes a test, then he can marry Mayera. He calls Mohit to the club everyday to play squash. V.K. gets a retirement gift from all his staff.

The story begins an airport, when Jignesh a.k.a. Jiggy(Nirav Mehta), Ravindran a.k.a. Rotlu(Karan Makhija), Sandhya a.k.a. Aisha (Sonam Kapoor) is a girl who believes she is perfectly suited for match-making – amongst her friends in particular. Sriram Venkat lives with his family in Bangalore. Sriram is a cool guy who loves himself and has just returned from studying architecture in the United States. The story is narrated by Gulabji (Rani Mukerji), a prostitute who frequents RK Bar, the town's most luxurious club. The film starts in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, where a coach says "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag!" The story is taken back to the memories of the childhood days of a young boy which haunted him, resulting in him dropping to fourth. Partition of India in 1947 caused chaos which resulted in mass religious violence in Punjab in British India, killing the parents of Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar). He reaches Delhi and later meets his sister there. Living in impoverished refugee camps, Milkha soon makes friends and survives by stealing along with his friends. He falls in love with Biro (Sonam Kapoor), but she asks him to live a life of honesty.
