Icche (English:Wish) is a 2011 Bengali language Indian drama film directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. This is the debut film of the director duo. The film is based on Suchitra Bhattacharya's novel and revolves around the relationship between an obsessive mother and her son. The film was presented by Rituparna Sengupta.

Synopsis

Manas is an insurance agent. He lives with his wife Mamata and son Shamik. Mamata is dissatisfied by her husband's outlook and dreams of bringing up her son differently. But, when Shamik grows up he starts rebelling against his mother's decisions and dominance.

The story of the film revolves around the life of a 23-year-old boy from a North Kolkata family named Anupam (played by Samadarshi Dutta). He stays with his mother (Laboni Sarkar) and uncle (Koushik Bandyopadhyay). He is totally spoilt, pampered and has not learnt to stand on his own feet yet and is more like a child than a man of his age. He has no idea of the world outside. He is dreamy and spends his time doing nothing. His uncle was looking for a bride for him. Harish (Prasun Gayen), his senior in college comes across him one day and offers to help his uncle to look for a bride for Anupam. He suggested Dr Shambhunath's (Mrinal Mukherjee) daughter Kalyani (Debosmita Saha) for his friend. After a little persuasion, Anupam's uncle approves of the alliance. But on the day of the marriage, Anupam's uncle insults Kalyani's father. As a result, Kalyani refuses to marry Anupam. She and her father goes away to a place far away. This affects Anupam badly who decides to do something about it. He leaves his house and goes away in search of Kalyani. He finds her and offers to help her in her work. Though she has sworn never to get married, she finally relents in allowing Anupam to be with her and help in her work.

Meng Hu (Don Wong) and Capt. Chow Lung (Lo Lieh) are local supercops who are cracking down on crime with a vengeance. That is, until several fighters get the drop on Chow who ends up dead. A white-haired master named Chung Tung (Chang Yi) tries to bribe Chen into letting opium smugglers into the city. Chen refuses and has acupuncture needles thrust into him that will kill him unless removed by Chung Tung who hopes to control the magistrate. Pushed to the limit, Meng finally comes up with a plan to help beat Chung Tung and save Chen. Sadly, Chen believes his son and daughter are giving into Chung Tung and he removes the needles himself. With nothing holding them back, Meng and Chen's offspring leap into action to take out this pack of drug pushers.
