Indru Poi Naalai Vaa (English: Go today, come tomorrow) is a 1981 Tamil film written and directed by K. Bhagyaraj. A coming-of-age story of three carefree teenagers, complete with bell bottoms and thick-framed goggles of the 80s, the laugh riot attained cult status among film buffs. The movie was unofficially remade as Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya in 2013.

Synopsis

The film is all about three friends who fall for the same girl, narrated as a comedy. Palanisamy and his two friends have no job other than going behind girls. A pretty girl (Radhika) gets relocated with family to the opposite house of Palanisamy (Bhagyaraj). They three fall for the girls beauty and makes a gentleman agreement leaving the decision of the girls choice to choose her lover. To impress her, the three attempts three different methods. Palanisamy helps Radhika's mother in kitchen works, one of the other friends joins her fathers tuition to learn Hindi and the third one comes to learn martial arts from her grandfather.. the rest is all about who won the girls heart

The movies portrays social conditions like dowry, one sided fidelity of woman, honor, illiteracy and other aspects of social life. Mangalam (Sulakshana) is the only daughter of the village elder (Senthamarai) who lives happily and hopes to get married soon. Senthamarai invites Bhagyaraj's family (Father and Step-mother) to come see Mangalam. Mangalam's family loves Bhagyaraj, and Bhagyaraj feels the same about Mangalam. Bhagyaraj's family promise to send their reply later. In the meantime, Bhagyaraj courts Mangalam (though initially shy), and meets Nambiar (Mangalam's uncle). All is well and a date is set to discuss the marriage proposal. During the discussion, Bhagyaraj's step-mother asks for more dowry than Senthamarai can provide and the marriage proposal stops. Senthamarai also opposes the marriage after the talks fall through. Mangalam and bhagraraj attempt to elope fails, and Mangalam is caught by her father who attempts suicide. Bhagyaraj comes to mangalams village to woe her family to give her hand in marriage. Does bhagyaraj succeed in this forms rest of the story.

Parimalam (Urvasi) is a mischievous nubile lady who perennially plays pranks on unsuspecting villagers, aided by her gang of preteen children. These often end her and the gang in the panchayat. A widower (K. Bhagyaraj) enters the village with his infant child (Sujitha) to take up the vacant teacher's post in the local school and is immediately pranked by Parimalam's gang upon his arrival. Parimalam's playful nature transforms into love when she learns that he's a widower. She tries many ways to win the teacher's heart, but fails every time. The teacher believes that a stepmother could not care for his child. As a desperate measure to attain him, Parimalam falsely accuses the teacher of molesting her. She even swears upon the teacher's child's life to prove her case at the panchayat. The teacher is then forced to marry her against his wishes. However, he vows never to touch Parimalam and to remain forever in celibacy. Parimalam relentlessly tries to seduce him by various methods. All her advances are ignored by the husband. Faced with the prospect of never attaining her husband's love, Parimalam decides to take the drastic measure of going through a tubal ligation procedure. With this she hopes that her husband will understand that she would never ill treat his son as a stepmother. Shocked upon hearing of Parimalam's decision, the husband rushes to the hospital to prevent her from undergoing the procedure. He reaches the hospital to find Parimalam unconscious on the bed and assumes she has already undergone treatment. However, the doctor assures him that she has not been operated as he found Parimalam to be a virgin and realized that she must have wanted the operation under duress. The story ends with the couple happily united and in the process of planning for another child.
