Kanchi Thalaivan (Tamil: காஞ்சி தலைவன்) is a 1963 Tamil language Historical fiction Action drama film directed by A. Kasilingam. The film features M. G. Ramachandran, S. S. Rajendran, P. Bhanumathi and C. R. Vijayakumari in lead roles, while M. R. Radha and S. A. Ashokan as villain.
The film, produced by Mu. Karunanidhi, A. Kasilingam and Murasoli Maran under Mekala Pictures, had musical score by K. V. Mahadevan and was released on diwali day of 26 October 1963. The film miserably flopped at box-office and ran for 70 days.
Synopsis
The story is about the rivalry between Pallavas and Chalukyas, MGR as the Narasimha Pallava King also known as Mamallan rules Kanchipuram with peace, Pulikesi (S. A. Ashokan) whose desire is to capture Kanchipuram, with a cunning plan send Poovikraman (M. R. Radha)Actors

Swaroop Singh (O. A. K. Thevar) won the respect and loyalty of the people of Senji during his rule where Hindus and Muslims lived in peace and prosperity. A son was born to Swaroop Singh and his wife Rambai (Rushyendramani), whom they named Tej Singh pronounced as Desingu (MGR) in Tamil. Swaroop Singh has a secret wife called Jaan Bibi (Lakshmiprabha), and they have a son called Dawood Khan (MGR) who was a little older than Desingu. Fearing that Dawood might pose a threat to the succession of the throne in years to come, on the advice of his commander and close confidant Yusuf Khan (T. K. Ramachandran), Swaroop Singh persuades Jaan Bibi to leave Senji, taking little Dawood with her. Desingu who has integrity and courage grows up with his childhood friend, another brave young man called Mohammed Khan (S. S. Rajendran), and two are always inseparable.

Shekar (M.G. Ramachandran) is from an affluent family and Maragadham (B. Saroja Devi) from a poor family. Maragadham's brother Kandan (M.R. Radha) is a tea-stall owner who hates rich people because of some unpleasant incident from his past. A local goon Muthaiah (S.A. Asokan) loves Maragadham and wants to marry her. Neither Maragadham nor Kandan like Muthaiah. Shekar once saves Maragadham from Muthaiah, after which Maragadham gets a chance to save Shekar's life when during one of his hunting adventures, a tiger attacks him. Both develop a liking towards each other. However, Kandan's hatred towards the rich comes in the way of their love.

Sivagami refused to marry Mani. Things get tightened the neck of Radha when Chandran goes to police. M.R.Radha accepted Chandran and sivagami love. At the climax Chandran and cops plays drama to find the mask killer. Will killer's mask tear? Sivagmi and Chandran get marry? Remain story 'll cover up these questions.
