Synopsis
Josekutty (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is a hard-working auto rickshaw driver from a good family. Josekutty falls in love with Jansi, whose sister Nancy is an unwed mother of a boy. Josekutty is asked to see Nancy for an arranged marriage, and he mistakenly thinks that Jansi is Nancy, and he agrees to the marriage. Josekutty agrees to marry her. Nancy is found dead on the day before the marriage. Josekutty raises her child as his son. He tries to find out who fathered Nancy's son. He learns that Monachan (Jayasurya), who was the cousin of Nancy, was in love with her, and Monachan had killed her boyfriend, who was the father of her child. He also murdered Nancy by mistake. Josekutty and Jansi make up, and decide to take care of the orphaned child as their own.Actors

Harikrishnan (Jayasurya) is the adopted younger brother of Karunan (Lal). When Karunan loses his right hand in an accident, Hari at a young age takes responsibility of his family. The film centres on a group of classmates who attendeded the same Chemistry class in their final year of college. Among them, Murali (Narain) is a singer and P. Sukumaran (Prithviraj) is a firebrand leader of the left-winged students union. Vinod (Pritviraj) is in love with Aswathy (Karthika Mathew) a member of the Lakshmipuram royal family, which has many dark secrets. When Aswathy's mother refuses her to marry Vinod, she elopes and marries him. Raghavan Master (Sreeraman), a scion of a high Adiga Brahmin family and an ardent communist, is now in crisis as his Tharavadu is devoid of the fame and fortune it once had. Balachandran Adiga is his only son, who has the burden of looking after his family and his four nubile daughters. He is aware of the difficulties involved in bringing the family back from the brink of nothingness and in marrying off his sisters. Balachandran's eldest sister Shobha does some tailoring and manages a low earning with which the family is kept out of hunger. Balachandran is engaged to Sumithra, his cousin and childhood pal, but in the turn of events, one Thripran Namboodhiri (Salim kumar) comes with an offer to marry his niece to Balachandran, thereby agreeing to make him a secretariat staff and thereby save their sinking family. Sumithra forces Balchandran to risk their dreams for the sake of his family. He is forced to forget his murappennu and childhood playmate Sumitra(Kavya Madhavan) and is compelled to marry Surabhi(Samvrutha Sunil), a girl from a rich family, to tackle the serious economic adversities that his family faces. Notwithstanding the family chaos, Balachandran's younger sister Shubha walks out with Adivasi leader Sreedharan on the day of Balachandran’s marriage, causing irreparable damage to the family reputation, following which his mother dies. Sumithra finally marries a cruel and corrupt police officer who is always doubtful on the character of his wife.

The film is a journey through the minds of Mohanakrishnan, a fashion photographer living in Kochi. He was earlier based in Mumbai, and is separated from his wife, Jyotsna Mathew, a model and an aspiring actor who lives in Mumbai with their child. Sreekumar (Jayasurya), son of an idealistic political activist Achukoodam Madhavettan (M. R. Gopakumar), is determined to get a doctorate in linguistics. Although mired in poverty, he works hard on his thesis. But his life is made difficult by his research guide and his thesis gets rejected. He decides to abandon his studies and find a job. That's when his friend, Sneha (Remya Nambeesan), helps him get a job at a pig farm. When he opposes some unhealthy practices at his workplace, he is relegated to a menial job at the pig sty. Eventually, the travails that he has to undergo shatter his youthful idealism.
