Synopsis
Une comédie policière où l'héroïne est une femme du monde sophistiquée mais pleine de verve, de courage et de détermination pour sauver sa réputation et l'honneur de sa famille. Evangéline Saint-Léger mène une vie confortable entre un mari toujours absent et ses deux enfants, Philippe et Sophie. Un après-midi, elle se rend chez son amie Valérie pour lui emprunter un bijou de grande valeur, afin d'orner une robe qu'elle doit porter le soir même. Alors qu'elle se prépare pour le coktail auquel l'a conviée le couturier Nicolas de Rizzi, une jeune fille, Pascale, s'introduit chez elle et lui annonce qu'elle est enceinte de Philippe. Peu de temps avant qu'elle ne parte, Evangéline reçoit un coup de téléphone de la même jeune fille qui menace de se suicider. Affolée, elle passe à l'hôtel de Pascale et la trouve morte. En repartant, elle s'aperçoit qu'elle a perdu le bijou de Valérie. Il s'ensuit des aventures mouvementées pour récupérer le fameux bijou.Actors

Iona est basque et travaille depuis quelques années comme grand reporter pour un quotidien parisien. In order to put a painful past and a terrible sense of guilt behind her, a sterile young woman named Mathilde (played by Nastassja Kinski) uses extreme cloning methods to give birth to Manon (Audrey DeWilder), and is comforted by her obstetrician husband Thomas (Christopher Lambert). Manon starts off as a very normal child; but suffers from intense nightmares, that we later uncover to be her mother's memories. The child's growth is abnormally rapid and she becomes the splitting image of her mother. Manon becomes determined to destroy her mother's life, even showing affection for Mathilde's husband Thomas. Manon eventually learns what happened to her brother who drowned in the well at the back of their property. A somewhat artificial looking young dandy goes to an ornate dance hall, where he finds a young woman to be his dance partner. When he faints from the exertion, a doctor is called. He discovers that the dandy is in fact an old man wearing a mask to hide his aged appearance. The doctor takes the old man home to his patient wife. She explains that her husband Ambroise used to attract the ladies who frequented the hairdresser salon where he worked, but in the space of two years, he lost his looks. He goes out in disguise in an attempt to recapture his youth.

Thomas, a troubled thirteen-year-old boy, picking flowers in a cemetery, is surprised by Martin, an escaped convict who demands that the boy bring him some money for train fare later that day. The boy does not know where to get money; the criminal tells him to ask his parents. "My parents are dead," the boy says. In fact, his parents, Maurice and Lili, are alive. They are separated but they both live near the boy's grandparents' house. Thomas, disaffected by his parents divorce, goes to a boarding catholic school but is spending the weekend with his family and is going to have first communion. His grandmother is arranging to celebrate that special day and hopes her daughter and son in law would reconcile.
