Lágrimas negras est un film documentaire néerlando-cubain réalisé par Sonia Herman Dolz, sorti en 1997.
Le film, consacré au groupe cubain Vieja Trova Santiaguera, est une sorte de Buena Vista Social Club avant l'heure puisqu'il sort un an avant ce dernier et qu'il montre l'apothéose du groupe de papys cubains formé en 1994, soit deux ans avant celui de Ry Cooder, Compay Segundo et consorts.

The film follows rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars as they first learn of and then begin to fight a $30 million lawsuit brought by record label EMI. At the time, they had been writing songs in preparation for the follow-up to their 2005 album A Beautiful Lie. For the bulk of the film, the band, consisting of Jared Leto, his brother Shannon Leto, and Tomo Miličević, is shown working with producers Flood and Steve Lillywhite to create what would eventually become This Is War. Between recording sessions, they meet with lawyers to negotiate for the band's survival.

The film opens during the Dixie Chicks' 2003 Top of the World Tour, discussing the Dixie Chicks' super-star status prior the incident at their London show. They had sold more albums in the United States than any other female band in history. With the release of their 2002 album Home, they were again at the top of the Billboard Charts. The new single from that album "Travelin' Soldier", a sensitive depiction of a soldier's life during the Vietnam War era, and the young woman who waited for him, finding he was killed in battle, had peaked at #1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
