Lenny débarque à Paris monter une petite arnaque avec l'intention de disparaître le plus loin et le plus vite possible. Juliette ne supporte plus Joël, patron, amant prévenant et dealer redoutable. Lenny-Joël : vendeur-acheteur et pas d'atomes crochus. Juliette attire Lenny dans un piège, en sort couverte de remords et décide même de lui rendre son argent. Pas de chance, elle se trompe de mallette, embarque un chargement de valeur, presque impossible à écouler. Joël va lui faire la peau, c'est sûr. Mais Juliette est une femme d'action. Pourquoi ne pas essayer de doubler tout le monde, prendre la tangente et l'argent ? Avec l'aide de Lenny un peu collant mais prêt à tout. Pour un couple aux rapports ambigus et qui a l'intention de ne tirer sur personne, naviguer dans l'univers des dealers violents et des clients mystiques relève de l'épreuve initiatique. Et traverser une telle épreuve à deux, ça crée des liens.

In 1920s Chicago, Italian immigrant Antonio "Tony" Camonte (Paul Muni) acts on the orders of Italian mafioso John "Johnny" Lovo (Osgood Perkins) and kills "Big" Louis Costillo (Harry J. Vejar), the leading crime boss of the city's South Side. Johnny then takes control of the South Side with Tony as his key lieutenant, selling large amounts of illegal beer to speakeasies and muscling in on bars run by rival outfits. However, Johnny repeatedly warns Tony not to mess with the Irish gangs led by O'Hara who runs the North Side. Tony soon starts ignoring these orders, shooting up bars belonging to O'Hara, and attracting the attention of the police and rival gangsters. Johnny realizes that Tony is out of control and has ambitions to take his position.

Corky (Gina Gershon), an ex-con who has just finished a five-year jail sentence, arrives at an apartment building to start work as a painter and plumber. On her way up to the apartment, she encounters the couple who live next-door, Violet (Jennifer Tilly) and Caesar (Joe Pantoliano). After Caesar has gone out, Violet flirts with Corky and asks her to help retrieve an earring that has fallen down her sink. After Corky extracts the earring, Violet admits she lost it on purpose in order to get closer to Corky, and starts to seduce her. They are interrupted by the arrival of Caesar and Corky goes back to work. When she leaves for the day, Violet follows her to her truck. They go to Corky's apartment and have sex. The next morning, Violet tells Corky that Caesar is a money launderer for the Mafia and they have been together for five years.

At Columbus University, a fictitious college in southern California, we first see Malik Williams (Omar Epps), a black man, Kristen Connor (Kristy Swanson), a white woman, and Remy (Michael Rapaport), another white man, at the opening freshman pep rally and as they are decorating their rooms. Fred and Keith were childhood friends who dreamed of being triad members. As their became adults, they have achieved the dream and joined many gangs.
