Synopsis
Un jeune homme insouciant qui se prénomme Jip et qui donne quelques leçons de piano pour vivre, habite chez sa maîtresse Mona, laquelle a vingt ans de plus que lui ; ils vivent dans le confort bourgeois d'un appartement très agréable, Jip goûtant également la bonne chère de sa compagne. Mais il fait bientôt la connaissance de Rita, une jeune, douce et émouvante étudiante. Tous deux vont alors former un couple d'amoureux passionnés, vivant avec quelques sous et parcourant la France. En pleine période hippie et post soixante-huitarde, les deux amoureux connaissent un bonheur dramatiquement stoppé par la grave maladie qui va toucher Rita. Après sa mort, Jip se retrouve solitaire avant de rejoindre sa précédente compagne, Mona.Actors

Muriel (Annie Girardot) is a shy woman who bluffs and blusters around in order to hide her shyness and to protect her loneliness, even though she longs wistfully for a companion of some sort. She has been lonely so long that now she is an old maid and has never been wooed. But Muriel finally gets a glimpse of romance when Gabriel (Philippe Noiret) walks into the seaside hotel she is vacationing in. His car has broken down, and he has to stay there for a few days while it is repaired. Hers is the only dinner table with room at it, and Gabriel cannot prevent himself from charming women. She is stiff with him at first, but soon they develop a friendship.
