Maavidaakulu (English:Our Divorce or Mango Leaves) is a 1998 Telugu drama film produced by J. Bhagawan & D. V. V. Danayya on Sri Balaji Art Creations banner, directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana. Starring Jagapati Babu, Rachana Banerjee in the lead roles and music composed by Koti. The film is Ravi Babu's first debut as an artist.

Synopsis

Pratap (Jagapati Babu) and Priya (Rachana Banerjee) works as creative heads in opponent T.V. Channels AAHA & OOHO respectively, they always have a tough clash. Both of them are divorced people from their couples. Pratap has a daughter Puppy (Baby Upasana) and Priya has a son Babloo (Master Anand Vardhan), both of them are fed up with single parent love and they carve for father & mother love. So, Pratap & Priya decides act as their parents. Bapineedu (Kota Srinivasa Rao) Pratap's ex-father-in-law who wants to make remarriage to his son-in-law, plays a drama and shifts them to single house. In this period of time, Pratap & Priya start loving each other. Remaining, the story is how they get married.

Dora Babu (Venkatesh), the only child of a multi-millionaire Venkatraidu (Nutan Prasad) who can provide his son with anything he wants, but he loves his mother who ends up dying and his only desire is mother's love. The movie revolves around a couple of bachelors (Srikanth, Upendra, Shivaji, Rajeev Kanakala) who come into the city to find work. Upendra and Rachana fall for each other at their first encounter.But Later Rachana gets married to Srikanth. After Srikanth comes to know that her wife is in love with somebody else, he decides to sacrifice her to him. After she leaves her in the home town of her boy friend, Upendra takes her back to his friend Srikanth's home to provide temporary shelter for her. Later, Srikanth comes to know that his wife has actually loved Upendra before, he arranges a remarriage for both of them. The movie has got good blend of comedy scenes with Brahmanandam, situational back ground score and nice story line.The movie has depicted the lover boy role of Upendra despite his eccentric image.

Sriram (Venkatesh) and Seeta (Soundarya) have no children even after three years of marriage life. Sriram comes to know through the doctor that his wife cannot bear children, he is not willing to hurt his wife's feelings, he takes the blame on himself. Sriram's father (Kota Srinivasa Rao) is very fond of children so he always blackmails Sriram to make the second marriage. While on a business tour to Nepal, he marries a Nepali girl Manisha (Vineetha) under some unavoidable circumstances. When he comes to know that she is carrying his child, Sriram arranges for her stay at his friend Giri's (Brahmanandam) house. Manisha delivers a boy and Sriram adopts him with his wife's consent who is not aware of the truth. After some years Sriram's father comes to know truth through Giri, he wants Sriram to get back Manisha and make a clean of things to Seeta. But Sriram who is apprehensive of his Seeta's reaction begs his father to keep the whole affair under wraps and he brings Manisha as a cook to his house. The story takes a turn to climax when Seeta is not happy with the goings on in the kitchen, she tries to get Manisha married off to someone else, then Sriram reveals the secret, Seeta also understands situations and circumstances and she happily welcomes Manisha into their lives. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note of two wives live happily with one husband.

Sitaram (Chiranjeevi) is the son of the benevolent patriarch of his village who has been the Panchayat President for the past thirty years. Sitaram, his family and the village community are victimized by Vasundhara (Lakshmi) and Peddaiah (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Peddaiah's NRI son, Siva (Chinna) comes to the village from America to see Pappi (Ramya Krishna), the eldest daughter of Vasundhara, and a girl of Peddaiah's choice for him to marry, but he decides instead to marry Sitaram's sister, Malleswari (Ooha), a traditional Telugu girl. Peddaiah agrees to the marriage after he realises that the ancestral land which Sitaram's father had distributed to the coolies contains priceless granite deposits. He demands the land as dowry days before the proposed marriage. Sitaram's father refuses to take it back from the coolies. Peddaiah cancels the marriage. Vasundhara is angered by Siva's choice but dupes the coolies, steals their land and makes a deal with Peddaiah. Siva's marriage is fixed with Pappi without his knowledge.
