C'est le premier long-métrage du réalisateur. Le film a eu sa première mondiale à la Mostra de Venise 2018. Il a reçu le prix du meilleur film dans la catégorie Horizons/Orizzonti.
Le film relate l'histoire d'amitié de deux hommes avec en toile de fond la crise des Rohingyas.
Le duo français Snowdrops, composé de Christine Ott et Mathieu Gabry, a créé la musique originale du film ainsi que son design sonore, à l'initiative de Philippe Avril, coproducteur français du film .
Le montage a été réalisé par Lee Chatametikool, connu pour ses différentes collaborations avec Apichatpong Weerasethakul, et le directeur de la photographie Nawarophaat Rungphiboonsophit a été primé au Festival international du film de Thessalonique 2018.
Synopsis
En Thaïlande, près de la côte où des réfugiés rohingyas ont été retrouvés noyés, un jeune pêcheur à la chevelure blonde peroxydée qui vient d'être plaqué par sa femme découvre dans la mangrove un homme à moitié mort. Il le ramène chez lui et le soigne. Le rescapé reste muet. Le pêcheur lui donne comme prénom Thongchai en référence au célèbre chanteur Thongchai Bird Mac Intyre, lui apprend les bases de son métier et partage amicalement avec lui son quotidien.Comments

The film begins with Detective Havenhurst driving with his partner Detective Vargas. They receive a call and drive to the scene of a murder. As they push their way through the crowd at the crime scene, they see Brad McCullam leaving with a coffee cup. Inside the house, the detectives find the body of Mrs. McCullam, Brad's mother, who has just been stabbed with an antique sword. The young d'Artagnan arrives in Paris with dreams of becoming a king's musketeer. Quite unused to the city life, he makes a number of clumsy faux-pas. First he finds himself insulted, knocked out and robbed by the Comte de Rochefort, an agent of Cardinal Richelieu, and once in Paris comes into conflict with three musketeers, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, each of whom challenges him to a duel for some accidental insult or embarrassment. As the first of these duels is about to begin, Jussac arrives with five additional swordsmen of Cardinal Richelieu's guards. D'Artagnan sides with the musketeers in the ensuing street fight and becomes their ally in opposition to the Cardinal, who wishes to increase his already considerable power over the king. D'Artagnan also begins an affair with his landlord's wife, Constance Bonacieux, who is the Queen's dressmaker.
