The film stars Shannon Elizabeth, Lauren Holly, Matthew Settle, Bill Chott and Lucas McHugh Carroll.
The inspirational film about Marshall, a dog who was rescued by the Humane Society of Missouri from an abandoned property with over 60 dogs living there. Marshall had been badly injured and left for dead by the other dogs, he was rescued and taken care and then Cyndi Willenbrock ended up adopting Marshall a few months later.
Principal photography began on June 2, 2014, in Edwardsville, Illinois. Shooting also took place in Metro East, Troy, Il., and St. Louis, Missouri.
Synopsis
A young boy named Finn rescues an injured dog from an abandoned property in St. Louis. 12-year-old Finn (Lucas Carroll) endures daily torment from the bullies at his school, but his life begins to change the day that he encounters a Labrador retriever named Marshall. When Finn first finds the dog, Marshall is being held in deplorable conditions by an animal hoarder who keeps 60 dogs penned up on her isolated ranch. The boy sees something of himself in Marshall: Both are bullied, but both are brave. By saving Marshall from the dogs that are attacking him, Finn pulls off a daring rescue—and that’s only the beginning of the story. Inspired by a true story, “Marshall the Miracle Dog” stars Shannon Elizabeth, Lauren Holly, and Matthew Settle.Actors

Sam Simms (Sinbad) is a Secret Service agent assigned by his superior Wilkes (Robert Guillaume) to protect President Paul Davenport's (James Naughton) rebellious 13-year-old son Luke Davenport (Brock Pierce) after Luke's behavior causes another agent Woods (Timothy Busfield) to be replaced for mistreating Luke in front of media cameras. Woods is later fired for failing his physical. Simms sees this assignment as undesirable, but a possible stepping stone to protecting the President. He fails to connect with the boy at first, and Luke continues to misbehave, including an incident where he releases his pet snake Poison into a White House party. After seeing Luke get beat up by the school bully Rob (Zachery Ty Bryan), Simms feels sorry for him - he had felt alone as a teenager, too (losing his father in Vietnam) - and they become friends. Simms, a former boxing champion, agrees to sneak Luke out against the wishes of the chief of security Morton (Art LaFleur) and teach him how to fight.

Macy stars as the COB (chief of the boat) on a fictitious US Navy submarine, the USS Swordfish (although there were two actual submarines named USS Swordfish that served the US Navy during and after World War II, neither are represented by the sub in this film). While on patrol in the North Atlantic, the ship is ambushed by two German U-boats. Swordfish destroys one of them, but is critically damaged by a torpedo fired from the second one, the fictitious U-boat U-429 (again, there was a real WWII German submarine U-429, not actually represented in the film). Eight members of the American crew escape and are held prisoner on board U-429. However, the American executive officer had previously contracted meningitis and given it to his captain, who brought it aboard the U-429. Within days, over half the German crew, as well as some of the Americans, contract the disease and die. Although the Germans and Americans begin to work together to keep the boat operational, not all the U-boat crew is willing to go along with this arrangement. Also, another U-boat and an American destroyer (the fictional USS Logan, not related to the actual attack transport of that name) threaten to overwhelm their tentative truce.

Rowf (a Labrador-mix) and Snitter (a smooth fox terrier) are two of many dogs used for experimental purposes at an animal research facility in the Lake District of north-western England.
