Maruja in Hell (Spanish: Maruja en el infierno) is a 1983 Peruvian drama film directed by Francisco José Lombardi. The film was selected as the Peruvian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 56th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Synopsis

A boy named Alejandro is trying to find a job. His friend (an owner of an auto-shop and the ringleader of a street gang) invites him to take part in a robbery of a small recycling enterprise run by an arrogant and domineering middle-aged woman named Carmen.

Au début des années 1980, l'armée péruvienne tente de reprendre le petit village de Chuspi dans la région d'Ayacucho, contrôlé par l'organisation Sentier lumineux. Peter Huber (Peter Kern), the proprietor of a Bavarian corner newsstand, wins a free trip to New York City in a magazine contest, he is overjoyed.
