Marupakkam (The Other Side) (1990) is an award-winning drama feature film directed by K.S. Sethu Madhavan. The film is in Tamil with English subtitles. The film is based on Tamil novel, Uchi Veyyil written by Indira Parthasarathy. It stars Sivakumar, Jayabharathi, and Radha. The film's music is composed by L. Vaidyanathan.

At the 38th National Film Awards, it won 3 National Film Awards, including the Golden Lotus Award for Best Film, making it the first Tamil film to win the award. The film was featured at the International Film Festival of India in 2003 as part of a retrospective tribute to its director K.S. Sethu Madhavan.

Synopsis

The film is inspired by a novel "Uchi Veyyil" written by Indra Parthasarathy.
